If my input helped you will puts western union!!!!!!! LOL

I am so glad to see this site works.

One other thing you said was that he told you to open a paypal
Pretty much demanding it. The odasidy to talk to anyone with disrespect, my jaw dropped when the
Same guy told my grandmother she could easily walk to a
Western union to do this, and sent the same frigging email
From this "secur*.pay*[email protected]". What a joke

I am awed with the amount of different scams. We should enforce
Stiffer laws for these problems. Like this recession isn't enough.
Next time I take "fingers then names"

Take care all ;)

Hello,

I was also contacted by this fool ,he contacted me tonight in answer to my wheels for sale ad . He used the same story ,Timothy James oceanographer out at sea that wants to buy the wheels for his son as a gift, wants to pay with paypal and have his agent James Wolf collect the wheels bla bla bla..... :laugh-s:
Sorry it's late here and i'm tired ,i dont feel like writing the whole story right now.Since i am still in contact with him and he is supposed to send me the money via paypal by tomorrow i just wanted to ask you what should my next move be ?
by Dotti Sun May 08, 2011 9:48 pm
Simply ignore him completely or tell him that you have decided you will only accept cash in person.

He may send the fake paypal anyway and try to harass you, claiming that his money has been taken out and he can't get it back so you have to go through with the deal--if he does, once again, just ignore him or tell him that paypal has confirmed that he has sent no money (if you send the email to [email protected], they will in fact confirm it is a fake.)

Just to let people no if you have something for sale be ware of scammers. I keep getting emails saying is this item still for sale? Then they say they want to pay asap by credit card or paypal or bank deposit. They are always at sea and come from UK or Nigeria. Be ware they are just scammers. I know this because the item i have for sale is an animal. If someone was really interested they would not call the horse and item and want to import it over seas or put it in there shop without looking at it or something. Can't put a horse in a shop what are they thinking. It is not just the elderly they are trying to rip off. I get 2 emails a day the latest is James Lewis, Debbie or Sharon Kaith. Hope this helps anyone who is unsure. They are usually a marine, a marine engineer or oceaner or something.

Don't let our honest money go to these rip offs.

Sharon Kaith wants to buy my car !
Received a pushy email with the paypal blablabla, didn't trust it, googled her name and read previous posts.
Thanks for that.
Will ask her to send cash in an envelope first....

It is best to just walk away and not contact the scammer again. You undoubtedly are using your real email address to contact them, which typically gives them information about you. Just leave them wondering.

This website is the best! Believe it or not this person is still doing the same thing but I never ever send money to anyone! I was selling my dad's power chair on eBay Classifieds and a person "Kenny Robert" responded. After many emails he gave me the name of his shipper but Lo and Behold it was the same persons name that I see here: James Wolf 2115 Eagle Dr Ashtabula, OH. The IP address is also the same as mentioned here: 98.138.87.3. Once I recvd the email this morning instructing me to immediately go to Western Union and send $1000. to his shipper I knew something was up. I then googled that name & found your site with the same exact information except a new name.

Everyone take heed since he is also using [email protected]. I was going to report this to Yahoo but some one here said that will only have him create a new email address once they shut him down. I did, however, report his fraudulent Paypal email page to Paypal with any information that I had. I did inform him via email that I was onto him since I have a friend in Nigeria, which is true and told him to never contact me again! He uses the same M O about sending the item as a gift to his father as a surprise......amazing!

Hello!
Glad you found the site! Scammers in general will have several email addresses. Even more so for CL scammers as after to many replies to ads CL will block their login. So they will scam from several email addresses.

funny you guys should mention the "oceanographer" bit. My mom and I are trying to sell a condo without a listing agent on craigslist. At first I was excited thinking we got it sold then as then later in the day things just didn't add up in my head.

this is the sequence of my email conversations with this "Engr.Morgan Pack" <[email protected]> today until my instincts told me he was a Nigerian looking for his next Mugu. I thought if he is so interested why doesn't he give me a phone #??? the last thing I said to him was "my instincts tell me you are a Nigerian looking for a your next Mugu" and I have yet to hear back from him. messages go from 1st to last:

Thanks for sending me more information about the house and I will be
very glad to have more picture, i also want you to delete the advert
from the site because i am serious about buying from you... It was
really of immense help. Your sincerity is something I see very
necessary to appreciate. Thanks a lot. I have actually tried to get
this kind of building, I could have come and inspect the house and
then pay you in cash, but i can't due to the nature of my work. I am
an oceanographer, i am at sea right now.. I am actually trying to get
this house for my company stuff and they are moving from united
kingdom to America and my stuff are coming to lodge at the building
in 1 weeks to come, that is why i need the house urgent. So I think
its worth paying whatever the house tax fees will be just to put a
laughter to my company stuff. As to the price, I am okay with it, I
will be very glad to make the payment as soon as possible through my
bank account to make bank wires across to you. As for the agreement
and house document changing of name, you need not worry yourself about
how the document will be signed i will contact my lawyer in United
Kingdom and I will contact him about the signing of the house document
once the payment has been made thourght bank transfer. I will however
be needing your contact address to be able to get my lawyer informed.
Do get back to me as soon as possible with your bank details and your
full name, your full home address, your phone number and also get back
to me with the scan copy of the house document so that I can remit the
payment as soon as possible. Waiting for your reply.

This guy <[email protected]> really doesn't know when to quit!!! I got and responded to this email today:

If you are from the United Kingdom, how come you can't put a proper sentence together? Doesn't your lawyer have a last name?

Thanks for posting the info! You may want to edit your email address out though or you will get a lot more scammers contacting you.

This is clearly a scammer as you thought. Best thing to do is just ignore him. He already knows he's a scammer and he will just continue to lie.

Good luck!

Why should we give these hooligans any peace? If I didn't come to my senses and find this site by typing "ocenographer nigerian scam" in the search engine, I too could have been the next victim. The last thing I wrote to the trickster was "does your oceanographer ship bear this flag?" and added the green Nigerian flag. We need to make more noise, not less!

Annoy the living daylights out of them I say, and hopefully they will mess up and make a mistake that will cost them!

We're certainly in favour of baiting scammers, but for your own safety, not from your real life email address. You may be interested in our sister site http://www.419eater.com which deals with this.
What baiting does not include is telling the scammer you know he's a scammer, or pointing out his mistakes. We don't want to help him become a better scammer.
Its about wasting his time, closing fake websites, reporting bank accounts used for fraud, etc.

corrected URL to Eater. ~Bubbles

by Justin Wed Oct 05, 2011 11:32 am
Sorry just noticed Arnold had a typo in the URL it is www.419eater.com

Check out the site if you want to learn more about how to harrass the scammers. There is however a right way and a wrong way to do it. As Arnold said telling them what they are doing wrong and outing them as a scammer only helps them improve their scamming. You said it yourself you searched "oceanographer" because it was odd to you. We want the next potential victim to do the same.

Hi asianlion7, I understand your thought. Scammers delete thousands of emails they receive every day. They can just have anything from your email address go to trash, just as we encourage victims to do. They don't waste their time on opening junk mail.

Scammers only want to spend time with people who are most likely to send them money. If you are just sending junk to them, they will block you or retaliate on your email account. Please be aware that "email bombing" is an illegal activity.

Do take the advice of Arnold and Justin gave you to learn how to mess with scammers safely.
