Welcome to Scamwarners,
our sister site http://www.419eater.com deals more with baiting scammers and will give you a few tricks for remaining safe and causing maximum disruption to the scammers.
At Scamwarners we share the same dislike of scammers but we are here to protect and inform the potential victims directly, many of us are also active baiters and can be found at 419eater causing scammers some headaches but this is more about dealing with the more serious side of internet scams.

ah yes, I just signed up to 419eater. I also want to help warn people and protect people (proably because I just got home from Iraq and free from the Army, something in me just wants to protect people.) So I signed onto both boards. My mailbox is flooded with cheque scams, for some reason I don't get many of the other scams.
At first my logic was "well, if people are stupid enough to fall for scams, that's on them" until I realized how elaborate the scammers are, and how ignorant (not in a bad way) a lot of people are when it comes to the internet.they don't realize the scammers got their email addy from a webpage or list somewhere, and think "well if they have my email address it must be legit". However, I haven't yet experienced anyone who didn't believe me when I told them it was a scam. I'm gonna have to read through the posts and find the people that are in denial, and try to help them see the light (I'm very good at being persuasive and getting people to listen, especially once I tell them I was in the Army and in Iraq,)

hello Purple here...i have been surfin the net for years now and i have encountered a couple of scammers which i just normally block but lately i have seen how they progress and if a person isnt that keen enough they would fall into it.
i have encountered a few and i would like to share them to be able to contribute in helping others too.

Hi and welcome, I recall seeing your avatar at 419eater just recently so I know a little about you already and it all looks like good stuff to me.
419eater is for baiting scammers, Scamwarners is for warning victims, they go hand in hand at times but we do try to keep the warning part seperate which allows us to provide a better service to our visitors

Hi Guys and welcome. Can't get enough help in this game, so anything you can do is always welcome.
@Tizubythefizo You will undoubtedly come across a number of scammers using the "I'm a marine in Iraq and I found Saddam's treasure" routine. There must be 1000's of them out there.
Best start on this site is to post your experiences with scams. That lets potential victims that are pointed here to see that they are not the only ones targeted, and what to look out for.

I'm Grant Park from the USA
I'd like to do my part and expose the scams. It has hit home with my in laws, they lost over $9000 us while they lost their home and everything from a failed business the 419 lads gave them a false hope.
