Hi, my name is Ross from the land of the Haggis hunters (Scotland, for those who don't know what a haggis is).
I run an organisation called SAPAS (the Scottish Accommodation Providers Alert Scheme) which started in 2003 and is free to join. As the name suggests, it is mainly for small B&Bs, Guest Houses etc., but is open to other interested parties.
We have a website at
http://www.sapas.org.uk which is similar to Scamwarners except that only part of it is accessible to non-members.
Members can choose to receive "alert emails" about "runners" (people who leave without paying) and other "undesireables". The Scottish police also use us for missing persons and other police type messages.
As the majority of our members are in Scotland, most of the emails are concerned with Scotland, which is why the email alerts are optional.
There is also an old site at
http://www.scams.sapas.org.uk/ which, although not active any more, has examples of scam emails. This site is open to all to view and comment.
