someone asking for money for leave to come home

He says that I need to send 850 to get him leave from Afghanistan to back in the states. I get alot of these guys but this is the first to say that amount i need to send is this a scam or does anyone know what i need to do to check on this.

This is a scam, soldiers do not pay for leave, it is an earned benefit. Everything this person told you is a lie with the goal to steal money from you.
Stop all contact with this fake soldier without telling him that you know it is a scam. Just go silent and let him wonder what went wrong.
Please post the full email where he asked for money to be sent as this will help others who may be contacted by this thief to discover the scam.
