Hello,
It was so nice to read your email. I had an extremely busy day jumping from one meeting to the other; marking the start of the second phase of my project here. It was really nice to read more about you, where you are from and how you have come to be. I am glad that you are so open and forthcoming. It gives me the feeling that you are someone that I can trust. I enjoy reading to., Malcolm Gladwell, i know him very well the Canadian non-fiction writer.he's a good writer.
Let me give you some history about me as promised. I was born in Odense on January 2, 1956 and am an only child. My father being Danish and my mother a Swiss German (her father was from a small village near Berlin) but they lived in Denmark. My mother, like many at the time, got married at a young age and had me when she was only 23 years old. When I was 4 1/2 we moved to Minnesota in the States for a year and later to Florida where we lived for almost 9 years. My childhood was very interesting, going to an international school and having friends from all over the world. Vacations were spent in Germany with my German cousins (of which I have lost contact with most of them) and traveling around with my parents and school friends to all kinds of very interesting places. I lost my father when I was 15 years, and the rest of my childhood years, i spent with my mother. My mom passed on a few years after my first degree. The years that followed were difficult but that experience evolved me to who I am today teaching me to appreciate life in it's simplicity.
For undergrad, I attended the University of Florida, did a study-abroad program at Bristol University, UK and still graduated within 4 years even though I worked throughout... either as a waiter, cleaner, receptionist and campus recruiter. I got my degree in Petro-chemical Engineering. Later I attended grad school at the University of Leicester in England and received a masters in Bio-Fuel Engineering. I got a job with a small Engineering firm at that time and decided to settle in London. Things weren't going too well at work then and the pay was next to nothing. That was a very difficult period in my life. I had to look inward for happiness and learned a lot of lessons the very hard way. I later quit my job after two years of being static with little development of my personal potential. After a few years of jumping from one job to the other in search of exposure; my big break finally came when I got a job with BP Plc. That kick started my career and after a few years, I started handling key positions and establishing contacts. I later formed a partnership with a friend until late in 2004 when I decided to work independent. Since then, I have been the CEO of my own company and have handled various projects around the world. The project I am currently handling here in China involves purchasing, repackaging and exportation of large industrial bio-fuel processors to clients in the United Kingdom. It is very challenging but much more lucrative. The bio fuel processors are used in the production of bio fuel which is an alternative to gasoline. In most cases, Ethanol is used as a bio fuel alternative to gasoline; mostly in United States, it is used as an oxygenate to gasoline (oxygenates are usually used as gasoline additives to cut down or reduce carbon monoxide that is created during the burning of fuel). Now using alcohols such as ethanol in internal combustion engines is only possible if the engine is designed or modified for that purpose. Now to know the percentage of ethanol in a given volume of gasoline, 'E' numbers are used. E10 means 10% ethanol in 90% gasoline. E25 means 25% ethanol in 75% gasoline and so on .....the most important advantages are that they are environmentally friendly leading to less emission of carbon monoxide and many others gases which are dangerous pollutants to the human race.
On the love front, I got married to my ex immediately after my masters degree. We had a lot of wonderful moments together and also some down moments. We were married for 19years but perspectives on some things drew us apart. She became too religious and it was best we went our separate ways. The divorce process was finally concluded in 2004. I have had one serious relationships after my divorce and to be frank with you, I was looking for an exact replica of my ex so things did not just work out. I am over that now as I have learned that making comparisons with past relationships is not healthy for a relationship. We are all different people with different mindsets. I have also learned that we come to love not by finding a perfect partner but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly, accepting them for who they are. I do not live in the past and have taken a decision to live in the NOW!! TODAY is a gift that is why it is called PRESENT!!!
While my job is important to me, I am very, very happy with my current state and could care less about material things. I am independent - neither republican nor democrat (though I vote mostly democrat) nor conservative or socialist (though I am a big environmentalist and social advocate). I do not pay much attention to outer beauty - what is important and just as beautiful is what is in a person's heart, mind and soul. I like to think that what one may lack in outer beauty they make up with inner beauty and I like to view myself that way - beautiful from the inside out. I believe that happiness is a decision one makes and while there have been many ups & downs, my decision has always been to be happy. I always try to find the light at the end of the tunnel or a window to open (to take a line from the movie Sound of Music)... which is why I signed up for parship (but I will save this part for another day to tell). I'm interested in many things including: history, humanity and world cultures. I love hiking in the mountains and by the sea. Nature is a healing and uplifting influence upon my spirit, and in its beauty; I feel connected to the Universe. I consider myself a practical individual who is complex at times but grounded in good values. Am I perfect? Hell no! Who is? But my sincere desire is to learn how to improve my imperfections in order to become the best that I can be as an ordinary functioning human being.
My decision to move to Denmark came as a result of the changing bio-fuel environment among the EU nations. After handling a few projects in the Scandinavia (Denmark and Norway), I fell in love with the environment and after undergoing some feasibility studies, I decided to relocate permanently here. It's taking me quite some time to finally settle in as relocating production unit is never easy, especially when it involves heavy equipment. I am positive that before the end of the year, my company would start operating from Denmark.
I approach life with a sense of openness to new experiences and adventures with humor and wit, willing to try things previously unattained, while engaging all my faculties to absorb all that I can, because I happen to have an insatiable appetite for understanding the mechanisms of our reality. In this regard, I have traveled extensively around the globe - Africa, Europe, Turkey, Japan, India, The Middle East, South America, around the US, Canada, South Pacific Islands, Caribbean Islands; I was recently on a 2 weeks cruise around the Caribbean (my 3rd around the islands). Travel; which gives value to time spent on this planet, is continuously giving me new perspectives that are filled with exciting experiences and much spiritual and cultural enrichment.
Hopefully this mail is not too 'deep' or too long for you. I want to be open and share with you who I am... what "makes me... me." I will like to hear your voice. you can send me your mobile, i will give you a call.I would very much like to read from you again.
Have a wonderful weekend. greetings from china.
Michael.
P.S; If you are interested in having a perspective of my work. You can have a look at my company website. it's www.raetechnologies.com......I hope you don't find it too technical and boring.
Thanks for having this service - hopefully posting him can prevent others from this dissapointing experience. Best regards
