Have you heard about this scam? I have just received SMS and then email to say I have won US$2 million and now they want me to send about 400-500 pounds for courier costs to send me the documents from UK?

We do see this from time to time. Some scammers are using SMS just like email for scamming. In the end it is a typical lottery scam, where they claim you won a lottery, and demand fees to send your money. Of course there are no lottery winnings, and the only money going anywhere is your money to the scammers.

I'm afraid I have this little problem too. I've just received the same sms as yours, saying that I won 2 million pounds, but the number wasn't from UK. It was actually from Germany. I didn't send the email that the scammers were asking me to do, but I'm really curious how on earth they found my number...Strange..

Welcome to Scamwarners Leila.
I don't think they do have your mobile number. The SMSs would have been sent out in bulk by computer to a range of possible cellphone numbers. Yours just happened to be one of them.
