Learn about us and introduce yourself

Hi, I just wanted to post and introduce myself to the community here. I'm actually a consumer advocate professionally and work for a national organization devoted to fighting Internet and telemarketing fraud. I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't realize ScamWarners was around until I saw a link on Consumerist today (I've only been in the job for a couple of months...).

I'm really looking forward to reading all of the great postings here and participating in the discussion. Keep up the great work!

Welcome Jammingecono, we've got some sofas to sit in while you read through the site, please post ideas/thoughts/scam modalities if you have them.

The more information we have the better the site becomes.

A bit off-topic, but is anyone else having trouble getting registered on the 419Eater.com forum? The captcha is not accepting the letter/number combination I put in. I've checked and re-checked that I've got it right, but still it comes back saying that I've entered the incorrect captcha.

I couldn't find any contact info on the site and couldn't PM an admin since I don't have an account. If anyone here has a contact there, maybe you could alert them?

Odd.

I believe that is a firefox issue. I had the same problem, but was able to contact the admin somehow and they sorted it. Try IE or Opera first and if that fails, PM Jillian on here. She should be able to help.

Looks like that was the problem. Tried registering w/IE and it worked without a hitch. Many thanks for the suggestion.

Have you sent a payment to a scammer with Western Union and now realize it's a scam? If the payment has not been picked up, you can cancel it immediately! 1-800-448-1492
