Hi Everyone

Anybody can tell me if this person DENNIS WILKINSON a scam? He provided me his # in e-mail which is +447011139992 and his email goes like this

Hello,

We are Wilkinson's family from The United State of America ,a nice and
fun loving family currently based in London in England (UK).

I work as a production engineer for Endeavor Energy, a United Kingdom
based Construction Company. My wife Tracy also works with the same
company as an Administrative Assistant. We were posted on contract to
( UK ) were we currently reside but we would be returning back to (
USA ) after our contract expires.

Our busy schedule prompted us to seek the assistance of an aupair.

We would be offering a salary of 1500GBP which would be paid at the
end of every month and a weekly pocket money of 120GBP.We are paid
well by our company and we want the best for our Daughter.

On the issue of travel documents, we would take care of the cost. In
saying this we would be paying for your flight tickets and visa
procurement charges.

Indicate your interest by sending us a mail with Resume attached.

Best regards
Dennis Wilkinson
For the family.

It's a scam.

This exact same script has been used under several names now. There are several indicators, but the quickest and easiest way to tell is the phone number.

Numbers starting with 4470 are not actually UK phone numbers. They are special "redirect" phone numbers that are forwarded to phones all over the world (in this case, the calls would be forwarded to a cellphone in Africa or Malaysia). They are used frequently by scammers who are pretending to be in UK when they are not. Someone who is actually in UK will not have a 4470 number. As soon as you see a 4470, you can be certain it is a scam.

Some scammers try to write the phone numbers differently so that they don't look the same.
Ultimately, if the first digits are 4470 or 44070, regardless of where they put dashes or parenthesis, the numbers are still redirect numbers.

There is absolutely no doubt that this is a scam.

The photos are simply copied from the internet, probably from someone's facebook page or another social networking page.

Scammers routinely place fake ads in order to find victims to steal from. The scammer is still writing you because he still thinks he can convince you that there is a job, and then he can steal your money by having you pay fees needed to get the job.

Here is the information on that phone number:
Number billable as mobile number
Country or destination Nigeria
City or exchange location
Original network provider* MTN Nigeria Communications Ltd

So he called you from his cell phone in Nigeria, which is where he is really located.

Did your father send the money with Western Union or Moneygram? I do hope that you did not give the transaction details to the scammer.

my dad sent it to me in western union and we are getting it today becoz i am not yet in UK. this time, the employer sent me an email asking for money from me about the payment of national insurance and the work regulatory's scheme. my cousin said that there is no payment needed in getting the national insurance and the worker's regulatory scheme in UK. so this is really a scam. at least I have an idea now
