Welcome to Scamwarners Lumina. I'm glad you didn't lose any money, but sorry about the effect he had on you.
Catching him won't be possible I'm afraid. He certainly isn't an American soldier, but probably Nigerian.
There's a lot more about this particular scam here at viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6527
Can you not use all upper case please. Thanks.

I'm sorry but this is a scam. I don't know what has been said to you to make you change your mind, but there is one thing that jumps out for me as this being a scam and that is the fact that the headquarters is using a usa.com email address and not a .mil.

Please don't let this scammer bully/frighten/blackmail (or whatever he is doing) you. You were right in the first place.

I am quoting all the relevant information below so that other victims can find it and it doesn't get lost.

HIS NAME IS SERGENT JACK LEE - HIS EMAIL IS: [email protected], APO NUMBER: 11998866US, CAMP VICTORY...BAHGDAD, IRAQ, EMAIL OF THE HEADQUARTERS: [email protected].

Hello lumina,

What makes you now think he is not a scammer? I am 100% sure he is a scammer. I'm guessing you confronted him about being a scammer and he is using the typical tricks to convence you he is not. He lies and steals for a living so he is going to continue to do so to try and convence you. The fact he is asking you for help to go on leave is undeniable proof he is a scammer. Private citizens cannot request leave for soldiers. Soldiers also do not pay to go on leave. Leave is only granted on merit by the soldiers CO. The US army even warns about military romance scams here http://www.army.mil/article/36242/cid-w ... nce-scams/

Please stop all communications with the scanner. He will only tell you more lies.

I am afraid he is a scammer Lumina. Please don't doubt us. The fake email addresses are enough proof.
Here is CAMP VICTORY. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camp_Victory
Garrison
XVIII Airborne Corps (????-December 2011)
III Corps(February 2010-????)
I Corps(March 2009-February 2010)
XVIII Airborne Corps(February 2008- March 2009)
III Corps(December 2006-February 2008)

Camp Victory was the primary component of the Victory Base Complex (VBC) which occupied the area surrounding the Baghdad International Airport (BIAP). The Al-Faw Palace, which served as the headquarters for the Multi-National Corps - Iraq (and later United States Forces - Iraq until it was turned over to the Government of Iraq on December 1, 2011), was located on Camp Victory. Camp Victory itself lay approximately 5 kilometers from BIAP.[1]

Note that at the time you first posted, all of Camp Victory had ceased to exist as a billet for soldiers and the Palace was a place for commanders and being run down. It has been out of use for several years, see below. So you were sold a lie to start with.
PROOF. Deals with the ??? dates shown above.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XVIII_Airborne_Corps
XVIII Airborne Corps was most recently deployed, from January 2005 to January 2006, to Baghdad, Iraq, where it served as the Multi-National Corps – Iraq. Following its return.....etc

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/III_Corps_ ... _States%29
III Corps
In 2007, the corps returned to Iraq for a second time to serve as commanding headquarters for Multi-National Corps Iraq. During this 15-month deployment, the Corps took command of the force when it was at its largest yet in the war dur to the Iraq War troop surge conducted that year. The corps conducted a similar mission to its first deployment, focusing on providing personnel management, training, communications, convoy escort, and other duties to support the commanding elements of Multi-National Force Iraq. III Corps fulfilled this mission until February 2008, when it returned home, again relieved by XVIII Airborne Corps.[27]

HERE IS A FURTHER LIE.
APO NUMBER: 11998866US

Army Post Office = APO
This is entirely fake and non existent. (At todays date is redundant)

At that moment I knew it was being scam. I contact Military Source One and I spoke a wonderful woman and that when she explains to me it was scam and I should filed a compliance on the dating website and BBB. This has been a hard lesson to learn.

Welcome Mona,

I am sorry you lost money to this scammer, but I'm glad you realized before sending any more.

For the sake of those reading this thread, I would just like to reiterate:
-In the US military, leave (of any kind) is earned, not bought. There are no fees, taxes, etc. to pay for leave.
-In the US military, only a soldier can request leave (and he can only get it if he has earned it). Someone from outside the military does not request leave for the soldier or fill out ANY forms. If you are dating someone who claims to be in the US military, and he asks you to send any emails to the military or complete any forms, then he is a scammer.

There is a link in my signature line with information for victims. I would like to encourage you to read that information.

Also, it will help others if you post the names and email addresses used in this scam (any addresses you received emails from or sent emails to)
