I have an account (inactive for few years) on 419eater, so I emailed admin because I don't remember my username/password, and I can't register a username because my current email is still tied to my old username. So I sent an email to admin, and got an auto response (to verify I am not a spammer), this is what I got:

Code: Select allThe message you sent requires that you verify that you
are a real live human being and not a spam source.

To complete this verification, simply reply to this message and leave
the subject line intact.

The headers of the message sent from your address are shown below:

So, I can't contact the admin to 419eater because of this automation process, but this automation process won't even let MY reply through. Now what!? :mad2:

Welcome to Scamwarners. At least one admin here is also a 419Eater admin. I'm sure you will get a PM shortly from someone who is able to help you.

Hi Breakwind. I'm not an administrator at 419Eater but I have contacted the administrator on your behalf and pointed him to this thread. He'll help you get sorted out.

Have you sent a payment to a scammer with Western Union and now realize it's a scam? If the payment has not been picked up, you can cancel it immediately! 1-800-448-1492

Is that a 419 baiter ? You didn't pm the addy, so I think perhaps it might be a catcher addy?

Breakwind, Rover is the administrator for 419Eater. That is an email address to contact him if you would like to get sorted at Eater. He doesn't scambait with his Eater username.

Ok thanks, I just sent him an email, though seeing his email on the forum is what kinda confused me, since I thought it would be pm'ed, since I know that if an email is on a forum it can be picked up by bots and spammed away.

Email addresses posted on forums like this is never a great idea, it often results in us getting extra spam and scams in our emails.

Many of us post throwaway email address for forums like this to allow people to contact us and we change them when they begin to clog up with spam.

While it is not best practice for us to be doing it, we do know the odd thing or 2 about the scam emails we receive in our own accounts so it is not a problem for us.
