Subject: Re: $450 / 3br - 1000ft² - Excellent Home (Louisville, KY)

Hello,Thanks for the email. The House is still available and will only be given out to the right person that will take very good care of the place and the facilities.
I have really decided to give out the house as a result of our work transfer to New MexicoI will be renting out the house for $450 (Including Utilities) water, gas, electricity and garbage and a security deposit of $400 (refundable) $150 for pet deposit and I need to inform you as well that money is not the major reason why I am renting it out but want someone who can take care of it as if he/she owns it.The Address of the property is :

2356 Gladstone Avenue
Louisville, KY 40205

Some useful information about the home:
This home is in a great location, convienant to everything Louisville has to offer. It is in great shape, and features hardwood floors throughout, a marble fireplace, tile floors in the bath, a walk-in shower off the family room, a smooth cooktop range, microwave and much more.
I was actually working with a Realtor earlier but noticed he increased the rent more than i expected he increased the rent and deposit,So since i see he is not honest with his job i decided to get it done myself

So i have decided to rent it out myself that is why you can see the advert in CraigslistI am not around in KY right now due to work and i have no one i can trust locally to help me with this pls do check the house through the windows and surroundings and let me know if you would like it and then we can talk on how you will be getting the keys and documents to check the interior and other details on phoneBut if you are willing to work with my situation, let me know so that we can discuss the rent further.

Cheers

It is a textbook African scam. The realtor story is just a pathetic attempt to explain why he would be trying to rent a place out from across the country without help. The truth is, a real property owner would have somebody--an agent or a friend--who could help. He would not be shipping keys across the country.

The scammer will tell you that he has the keys in his possession, and will instruct you to send money to someone (often a fake escrow service). He will claim money will be held until you have a chance to receive the keys and inspect the place.

Alternately, he may claim that he needs you to prove that you are financially capable of renting the house, and will instruct you to send money to yourself or a friend, claiming that it is safe because it is not in his name.

In either case, what really happens is the scammer collects the money (yes, he can get hold of it, even if it is in your name), and you never receive keys, because he doesn't own the place he is advertising.

Just cut off all contact with him.
