Robyn emailed me when I advertising a caravan for sale
Told me he was on an oil rig - no phone contact - asked a lot of questions about the caravan and agreed to buy it sight unseen but he had a problem with the freight costs.
I when received a Pay Pal notification that the had received the money - then another email from Pay Pal that the funds were held up until the freight costs were paid - then another one from Robyn saying that he had paid me but would I pay the freight of $1650.
I smelled a rat and told him when I got the cleared funds in my account then I would pay the freight.

Thanks for the understanding ,Please I have just made the payments now and
i expected paypal to have emailed by now,please check your spam/junk folder
as I sometimes get paypal notification there,I sent $81,750aud in all,
paypal said they would be holding the funds and it won't be credited into
your account because of the excess payments of $1,750aud i added meant for
pick up and delivery,they said they have emailed you to this effect, you
will need to send the $1,650aud to the freighting company headquarters via
western union money transfer,so that paypal can credit the $81,750aud into
your account as soon as you have emailed the western union details to them,
i added extra $100aud to cover the western union charges which shouldn't be
more that $60-80aud but just to be sure i added $100aud, Here is the pick
up agent info needed to get the money sent through western union money

You got a fake Paypal message, like all the rest of it FAKE. Paypal doesn't work that way and don't contact people to tell them they hold money neither do they use Western Union which is not for use by banks but by private individuals.The scammer is after the A$1,650

I have just received the same email. This time from "Rob Garnett" and also "Rob Toon". He sent me exactly the same email regarding my camper trailer. I got suspicious when I was asked to make a transfer using Western Union for the courier on his behalf before receiving the funds into my account. It was the same Paypal scam as in the email posted above.

When I got suspicious, I googled the Western Union transfer address and found this scam report. THANK YOU!! You saved me from a scam.

I am going to report this incident to caravansales.com.au
