I appreciate the information here. I do not condone this scam/tactic. I never knew anything like this happened until now. Thanks for the information. The few bucks saved is not worth the headache and uncertainty.

My suggestion would to call your local Law Enforcement. Tell them what has occurred. Ask them to take a Miscellaneous Information Report. Seek their advice and retain the Report/Case number. You can also call Best Buy give them some identification information on the invoice/packaging material to go on. Tell them them story. Ask them to research the payment and advice on what to do. Put your Credit Card Fraud Dept on alert seek their advice. What ever you do. You will want a record stating you had no knowledge.

As Dotti mentioned in a prior post we have seen this before. You can read that thread here. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=75600

@dedave, no offense meant. When I post, I know there is an audience I have to keep in mind.

If you would like you can send me a PM or email me with further questions.

Definitely a scam. I ordered a laptop from them and received a package from Best Buy a few days later. Suspicious, I checked the order no. on the packing slip at Best Buy's website and found out that the laptop was purchased at full retail price with a credit card that doesn't belong to me. I paid them with Paypal at $200 less than retail. I did some further research online and was convinced by this thread that this site is a scam. I just informed Paypal and will let Best Buy and the proper authorities know. Stay away!

A few quick searches lead me to one of their other new fraud domains:
Domain Name: ELECTRONICMEGASALE.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.
Whois Server: whois.enom.com
Referral URL: http://www.enom.com
Name Server: DNS1.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM
Name Server: DNS2.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM
Name Server: DNS3.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM
Name Server: DNS4.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM
Name Server: DNS5.REGISTRAR-SERVERS.COM
Status: clientTransferProhibited
Updated Date: 06-dec-2013
Creation Date: 06-dec-2013
Expiration Date: 06-dec-2014

And to eliminate some possible confusion: I read the linked thread in tivo community, including the rather aggressive defense by the poster who claimed he called Best Buy. The poster claims that it wasn't credit card fraud, because Best Buy told him the payment was made by bank transfer. The problem with that (fake) story? Best Buy doesn't accept bank transfer. So rather than supporting the legitimacy of the site, the fake testimonial in favor of the site further confirms the fraud.

I ordered a Samsung hard drive from this site, got the order fulfilled from BestBuy.com. I paid with my AmEx through PayPal in the amount of $151.99. Checking the bestbuy.com records the transaction says it was paid with a MasterCard in the amount of $201.86. So, I am glad I got my item, but I have no idea who's making up the difference on the payment.

You probably won't have your item for long as you are now in receipt of goods paid for using a stolen credit card.

I would recommend that you urgently
1. Contact Best Buy and explain what has happened and arrange for the item to be returned.
2. Initiate a clawback with PayPal before the account is emptied and closed.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Both sites electronichotdeal.com and electronicmegasale.com have been reported for fraud. If you have any more stories about these or similar sites, keep'em coming.
