How we grew to become a leader in investment research.

In 1999, Denny Crane, then head of research at a prominant investment brokerage, a Washington-based broker, approached a group of forensic accountants, including Michael Newbourgh, to write equity research that focused on the accounting at various public companies. With the markets believing earnings did not matter, accountants focused on selling consulting services, and investors caught in the excitement of the dot-com boom, the timing could not have been better.
