Well Boycie, pity delboy didnt have internet access. This constplant website takes some beating. I have been looking for a particular model jcb and found it at a bargain price on their site ( by the way I did a company search on constplant ltd and it is legit registered and up to date in the name of two men with surname barrington. Co reg no 6528103)

The offer i got was exactly as others have posted here with sales manager given as Christian Nielson though when I called the foreigner that answered the phone, "mr nielson", he seemed confused. His accent was definitely not scandinavian. They gave me bank account details to send the money to and i will paste details into a following post. My question is HOW THE HELL CAN THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH It? Where are UK authorities, british Bobbie etc? I nearly fell for it, but having found this site and your great posts I have been saved. They are still calling me to ask if I am sending the money today because " they want to start delivery process", yea right!

At the outset I must point out that the scammers impersonate many legitimate companies, which helps to confuse and obfuscate what these people are up to.

I can't really explain why nothing's being done, or why it hasn't even appeared in the news. You'd have thought that the public being ripped off for millions of pounds annually (which is not an exaggeration) is more significant than the colour of a dress being worn by royalty, but it costs money to take action. My concern is that the ultimate result will only be that much worse as the fraudsters are increasing their activity week by week. Bacteria multiplies if disinfectant isn't applied and fortunes are being made.

The damage done to legitimate businesses and trade in general is incalculable. This money is going straight out of the UK economy and being lost to UK companies. Buyers are being made more cautious and ad sites will suffer. It's a toxic situation that will only end one way - badly. They've pulled off some major frauds and we're just nibbling at the edges. I could give much more detail and give you an idea of the scope and reach of these people, which is nothing less than an attack on Western economies. It's very apparent that the UK has the weakest defences as it's their favoured playground.

The attitude appears to be that if left alone, the problem will resolve itself. This doesn't appear to be the case as the fraudsters are only being encouraged to use more sophisticated methods and adapt. The risk is that some ad sites will become unusable, online trade will diminish and people will lose confidence in bank accounts if they are so freely available to criminals.

Whatever powers GCHQ claim to possess, I'm not unduly concerned if they can't use them to detect fraud on this scale. My secret power is 'Google' and a brain.

Currently it's like taking on a swarm of locusts with a sniper rifle. There are certain simple things the authorities must do. As long as the scammers are focused on the UK we know they're not doing them and something nasty will be the result. All we can do is attempt to help individuals.
