I wish I had seen this before my father had invested money with these people. Figured out it was a scam when I looked up the registration number and it was for a different company + the fact the address doesnt exist, there is a 22 and a 30 on that road but no 26!

Difficulty is that the police tend not to be particularly interested unless more than one person is involved. So if anyone else fell for this please contact me.

Welcome to Scamwarners and I'm sorry to hear that your dad has lost money with these criminals.

When I first saw the original post I wondered how a scammer could use it, as the majority of scammers aren't fluent English speakers or knowledgeable enough to talk about finance.

Did they use a UK bank account to receive the money ?

It would also be useful to know what it is they were offering.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
