So these guys have my email, name, and address but no SS number, credit card or bank account info. Should I be worried or take any precautionary steps?
by Terminator5 Wed Jun 04, 2014 8:54 pm
You should Google the details you gave them periodically to make sure they're not being used in any scams .

Okay I never responded to the "R Moore" to accept employment but today, I get both a package in the mail and an email from him with yet another site. I am unable to open the package right now cuz i am at work but I was notified of it addressed to someone I never heard of. I called my county's sheriff dept. and said I might bring the package into their office tomorrow.

Is this what I should do? Should I give them the package and correspondence with the scammers?
by Dotti Thu Jun 12, 2014 8:22 pm
If the sheriff's department is willing to accept it and follow-up, great. It's good to file a report anyway.

If the package was delivered through the mail, the US postal inspection service has authority to investigate, and is actually more likely to do so. You can take the package to the post office, and file a mail fraud report--they should take it and handle it from there, or they might simply advise you to "return to sender" (if they don't feel they need it as evidence or for their investigation.)

It is a reshipping scam . There is no job . You would be reshipping merchandise bought with stolen credit details and could get in trouble yourself . Thanks for posting and updating the information .

If you could post the emails and email headers you received from them with your info edited out , it would help in getting that page shut down .
