Toyota Lottery

I received this from a person I warned, and as the name of Toyota is frequently used in these scams I thought I'd post it to assist people to find it here. The Lotteries have names slightly different, but all using the name of a company that is trusted and respected.

Toyota do not run any Lottery and have nothing to do with the e-mail. It is a scam and the scammer wants you to pay fake 'fees' and you will never receive a cent.

@Gomer glad to see you are here and I wish you luck in your dealings against the lotto lads. They also frequently use the name of Microsoft, Coca-Cola, FIFA, and Yahoo as "sponsors" of their fake lotteries. These lotto lads are cunning, and I would warng the reader never to respond to any e-mail claiming to be affiliate with a "lottery".

Thanks for that John. All scammers are vermin, but there are so many it seems sensible to concentrate on one type. Lottery scammers are my chosen field for special attention.

I wish more companies that found their names and logos being abused by scammers would act like Toyota and put up a page disassociating themselves from these fake Lotteries.

I think some companies don't like to acknowledge that there is a problem, but I believe they should all be prepared to demonstrate a similar level of corporate responsibility.
