Here is another one just received. It appears to be from France or Denmark but who knows. Anyway, it sounds too good to be true and therefore...it must be a scam.

Spot on there Fiesty, too good to be true = isn't true.
The IP is a satellite provider of West Africa and the yahoo email address also give it away as a scam.
The +31 country code is for The Netherlands, where a large number of these scammers are based. In all probability, the sender in Africa has contacts working with him in Holland

No tickets were sold.

= not a lottery = scam

I didn't think about that. Thank you. Wow! There is so much to know about all of this. Fortunately, I never got caught in one of the lottery scams but I made up for it in the Nigerian and China ones. Thank you again.

Among the Red Flags anyone receiving an email informing them of Winning a Lottery:

* Ask yourself, How can you win a lottery you never entered?

* There are no email lotteries. Your email address was one of many thousand who "won"

* There is a format of a lottery scam I have seen that uses the name "Microsoft" ~ and possibly other reputable companies. No, huge corporate companies are not ready to hand out their hard earned profits for some random promotion or any other creative idea the scammer makes up.

* In a real lottery, you do not have to pay to receive your winnings.

-Winning a lottery from a foreign country is very unlikely ~ if any possible in the first place.

* If there is any reason to doubt, come to site such as here at Scam Warners, and those of us who see these things on a regular basis at a minimum can give you reassurance that you're not missing out on collecting anything.
