Genuine lottery organizations need to raise funds for prizes by selling tickets. Email scam lotteries claim to have simply picked your email address out of the blue. If you haven't purchased a ticket then how did the lottery raise the money to pay the winners? Quiet simply, there is no prize money. The only real money that changed hands in these fraudulent lotteries is from the victim to the scammer in the form of fake fees.
