I've recently been mailed (by post) a "brochure" and two scratch cards by "Xelima Holidays". I've never heard of them and they claim to be registered in Malaysia at Level 8, Manara UAC No. 332 Jalan PJU 715 Mutiara Damansara, 4700 PJ Selangor. One of the scratch cards claims I've won US$170,000. I'm 99% sure they're scammers because their website's so awful and they ask you to ring for "deals". (http://www.xelimaholiday.com)
ph. +6011 3304 21661/+6011 3304 2167

Can anyone confirm they're scammers?

Also received same promotion and one of the scratch cards was for US $170,000. There are only supposed to be 2 winning cards for this amount. Clearly a scam.

Thanks for the confirmation.

I don't really know if it is a scam or not. but given that there are only 2 second prizes of $170,000. We must be the two winners.

I got the same reply from Xelima Holidays as Mike Wilson and clearly now there are 3 winners. They're a joke. There is no doubt in my mind that he is correct in saying that they are certainly scammers.
I'm having nothing more to do with them.

Just to be clear: It IS DEFINITELY a scam.

This particular format involving mailed "winning tickets" pops up under a new name every year or two. It's just a slightly more elaborate version of a standard advance fee fraud, in which you will ultimately be instructed to pay money in order to get a prize that doesn't exist.

I received the same prize, I did contact them via email and got a phone call asked me to read out the reference number on the ticket and then to email them a scan of the ticket. They said they'd call tomorrow I expect they will ask for some transfer to them to validate an account or something next

I've also called and lodged a report on http://www.scamwatch.gov.au

Their domain has only been registered since July http://domain-kb.com/www/xelimaholiday.com

or August depending on which link you like better http://www.whoismind.com/whois/xelimaholiday.com.html

They called me back several times unfortunately they must have detected my lack of gullibility or interest during the last call because they haven't called again.

It seems they were pitching that I was the confirmed winner of the 2nd prize but not being able to give me the prize if they couldn't locate my client number

Had I taken a holiday with them in the past or did I have shares in some management fund
I can't recall the fund name unfortunately

This was either a way of social engineering details of the share management company or the next call would have suggested I just book one of their holidays now for a client id then I could claim the prize
