yes, its a scam. Real people do not just randomly email strangers to "donate" money, gifts, or anything else ( except relatives).

The only real money is going to be coming out of your pocket, by wire transfer, with the scammer at the other end telling you "first you must pay ( taxes, fees, shipping, insurance, or some crap) ."

Would you please post the entire email ( removing your personal information)? So that others can search for the template this scammer is using.

the lottery scam is well-known, and it appeals to the dream most people have of getting a huge amount of money for nothing.

it is a ridiculous scam because the companies that run lotteries are BUSINESSES. like all businesses (except nonprofit organisations) their number one objective is to make money, which they do through selling tickets to the lottery.

you can't win a lottery you never entered, this is ridiculous, any company that regularly gives away millions of dollars to complete strangers would not be in business for very long as their shareholders would complain and they would go broke.

basically, in order to 'claim' the winnings you will need to send them money to pay for taxes, insurance, tranfer fees, whatever excuse they think up. send them money and there will be ANOTHER reason you need to send them more money ad infinite until you either run out of cash or realise they are scammers.

the ONLY money that even exists here is the money they want you to send them. delete them.
