You are correct because a real soldier would never ask you to send him stuff. The e-mail address you posted will warn others when doing an internet search. If you could publish an email header or one of the communications where you were asked to send items/ money would be great! Or was the dialogue only via IM?
Often scammers only use the instant messaging because it's impossible to trace.

Hey - thanks.

Yes the address that scammer sent me was via email. [email protected]. I searched it and it came up on "military gear/wall of shame" a bog on military dating scams, that was why I started searching more and found the photos. When I confronted him about it he got offline and I have not heard from him since and the two profiles he was using on match.com are now not in use.......but I forgot to delete his email & messanger from my email and I noticed yesterday he popped up showing he is online again using that address. How can I get that yahoo adress he is using to show up as a search on the web??

Oh and by the way grunt... how did you find his yahoo avatar??? I haven't been able to get that picture up on any sites. Thank you for doing it though :D let me know how to get this info out there.
by jolly_roger Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:01 am
You've done a good job of posting both e-mail addresses of the scammer in your post. It will now show up whenever some-one does an internet search on the address or the name the scammer uses.
Feel free to add any additional information.
You have saved someone in future from this sleazey character. I would ask that you do not confront the fraudulant individual because it will not achieve anything. They simply deny any knowledge, they then disappear whilst they create another profile with other false images and they make the next scam more difficult to detect.
I'm sorry this has happened to you and the scammer has wasted your time.

I confronted him about this today, because he kept pushing me to email the carrier for the things he wanted me to send. Told him he needed to give me an address because my daughter was sending her friend a care package in Afghanistan. I thought he was on drugs when he would write me because a lot of times it made no sense. He got mad because I told him I wanted a picture of his dog tags with his name on it, said his middle name was Kelvin. He literally tried to start making me feel guilty about not trusting him, told him he was a liar and if he want me to believe him send me the pic. He tried to tell me he was getting out in April but they hadn't told him when he would be going home. Thought that was crazy in itself, said he has been in the service for 19 years, thank you for this site, I was suspicious, found this after I asked his carrier to send me his address so I could send him the package, supposedly he is in Michigan and he travels around picking up care packages. Here is what he sent to my email.

Well done for posting the header OCRVT. You will notice the NNFMP contained within the header body. They usually appear after the Received: from lines. That is a sure sign of a suspect e-mail.

He came up in Match.com, said his friends introduced him to match, but then he deleted it really quickly. He made it sound like I was his saving grace, told me that he had been hurt by his girlfriend and that it killed his mother because while he was out in Afghanistan she saw his girlfriend and his best friend sleeping together and his mom had a stroke, that he had no family and any family he did have he hated them. Told me he was due to come home in a few weeks, but that the warehouse where they had all there personal things burned down. He said can't wait to come home to his new family told him he was basically crazy he doesn't even know me, kept telling me God Bless you. It is terrible this person gets away with this, thank God I started asking more questions, told him I would send him a care package once he sent a photo of his dog tags, so then he started to try and make me feel guilty that why am I doing this, told him he was a liar. Asked if I was trying to insult him. Either this is a child or he is from another country, because his english was terrible. I do hope he can be stopped because who knows how many have fallen for this. :(

Hey Messina
Dont feel bad!! I met him on match.com too. He said, word for word, the exact same thing to me. ALSO "How beutiful I was, he loved me the moment he saw my picture and to delete my profile so he would not lose me to someone else" He took his down real quick after we started chating. That should have warned me right then but it was my first time using a dating site. I feel very foolish still, but I am smart and SO ARE YOU because you searched and educated yourself :=) It is disappointing that there are people out there like this and he is still trolling match.com. If I may ask, what profile name did he use? I am still on match.com--Hell I paid them so why not use it to report abuse by bad guys. I have reported a few of the to the site, I am hoping to wake them up to review some of these men. JUST REMEMBER YOU ARE THE SMART ONE and he is an IDIOT!!! I am very glad my post has helped and if you have facebook or any site GET THE WORD OUT about him. Let's make a difference :laugh-s:

I think the on site name was "cominghomesoon" I think.
by OCRVT Wed Apr 11, 2012 10:00 pm
Thanks Messina, I will look but as you said he took his profile down. If you can post his picture here so I can search to see if he is using it but under a different profile. If you can't give me the age and city he used on his profile, this will narrow down my search. If I find him I will report him.

FYI - anyone on match.com this guy is still trolling on that web site and keeps contacting me with now 4 different user name, but keeps using the same line over and over again. I guess it is different people using the email or he has a memory problem if he keeps contacting me. I have not changed my user name or profile. Just read the above email request and he always says he is in afghanistan and his writing & spelling skills are very poor. I hope this helps, but there are a few good guys on the site, I just met one!! So just ask questions and if dont have a problem answering great. Quiz them on there location by using places only a local would know. If they insist on contact off site then they are probably a scammer.
