So I'm a little skeptical. I'm reading all this and I do see some similarities but there's a few things that are different in my situation... talked to a female 18 yrs for a while. Then we traded the xxx pics. But after all that she told me she wanted to tell me something. That she was 16 amd wanted a friend. So I told her that if she wants to talk to me there will be no more inappropriate pics and we talk as friends. We talked the next day text message were one or 2 word answers, nothing inappropriate. Then I didn't talk to her the day after. On the 3rd day I replied saying "what" and I got a reply saying "umm". Shortly after that I get a text from a different number from SC saying "this is sgt Thompson and you need to contact me asap". I'm in the military. He calls me explaining about how his wife is mad and wants to go to the police. He stated he was in the airforce. And he talked about how I signed a contracted and he said 1 thing that was a military job "pmo". So it sounds like he is military. He said if I pay 2100 dollars for his daughter to get out of the very good private school she's in, which is california, that would be the end of it and that he'll take care of the councilings. Everyday he wants me to check in until it's paid. The payment method is square cash, google wallet, walmart to walmart. He says he does not know what western union is. He uses sir and son in almost all his texts, he's use 3 phone numbersalready. 2 from SC and 1 from UTAH. I just need to know if I did anything illegal. I don't think I did. I sent the photos when she was 18 and then when she said she wasn't there was no sexual intent once so ever. I feel like it's a scam but I don't want to take a risk like this without knowing for sure that I'm safe. I definitely learned my lessons on this dating sites though

So, I got a call from 864-614-1083 going by the name of investigator Robb Gebbing and that I I was talking to an underage girl on a dating site and we started texting. He said if you agree to pay half of the "bill" and delete the app for 6 months, I won't file a warrant for your arrest. Well I ignored it and he called back 6 time then switched to another number (843-205-9863) and called me leaving voicemails and texts saying he's going to have me arrested in 4 days. He had a southern accent, said "son" alot in the phone and texted with "sir" a bunch. Both South Carolina number also.

These are all traits of the previous Blackmail/Sextortion Scams posted here . My opinion is that its the same scam . Terms of service on the dating apps and websites are no one under 18 . We can refer you to the following online and telephone chat organizations set up to assist victims of this scam . And its completely anonymous .

Do you think any laws were violated in my end. I've looked it up the the best I got was as long as there is no intent on having sexually activities I shouldnt be.

So I think I may be a victim of this...i exchanged some pics with a girl from okcupid, and the girl wanted to meet up with me. I was gonna but something seemed off (way too easy) so I stopped talking to her. The next day I got a message from an Oregon (I'm in TN) number claiming that she was 17 and that she had tried to kill herself when she got caught. He said that of I didn't call them to make it right they would call the cops. The only thing that gives me pause is that I suspected it was a scam, but when I asked if it was money he was after he said no, and I couldn't find any reports about the number online ( it was 5034335794 btw). I haven't called yet, and they stopped texting me after I mentioned that I supected a scam, but I'm still worried; what should I do?

No, but I reported it earlier... I'll check some of those resources out. I think I mostly needed to tell someone and be reassured that this was a scam, so thank you. Is there anything else I can post to help out like screenshots or something?

Post a link to the profile.

Screenshots are not very helpful because the search engines do not pick them up.

You can copy and paste messages.

Also post all names used. User names/email addresses.

If you post a picture watermark it as stolen.

That is the original message I received; they came in that order. I do notice now that others reported that scammers call you sir for some reason.
I said I couldn't call and he said he was reporting me; a few minutes later after I didnt reply he said he would give me one chance to fix the situation, making a point to use my full name.
I asked if he wanted money or something and he said:
No nothing to do with money
I mentioned the similarity to this scam but saod I would call later and he hasn't said anything since
Unfortunately I freaked out at first and deleted the messages she sent so I don't have her number, but it was in my area code; her profile name is kandicecutie45 though.
