Blackmail Scams - Sextortion Scams

This crap just happened to me yesterday, on POF. Talking to this girl who from her profile, said we was 22, we get to messaging over my phone. Then she sends me a nude pic the asks for one from me. So being a retard I send one. We keep messaging, then I go to bed. Next morning I get a call from some guy tell me I was sexting with his "16 year old daughter". Says he's trying to talk his wife down from going to the cops. And if I pay like 1000 dollars for her new phone and a bus ticket to Utah so she can get therapy.. He tells me to go to a Wal-Mart or CVS and send a money gram. The number I got was from California, 7072031272. They were blowing up my phone all day.

Same thing just happened to me! Pof account said 18 we start texting, I get a nude pics of her and then She asks for one back.. like you so perfectly put it, me being a retard sent one. 2 days later I got a text from her father who was super pissed and said I should call him because I sent pornografic content to his daughter who is a minor. I text him and just said sorry I will delete everything and never text that number again. He calls me and starts reaming me a new one saying I need to start going to church and asking me what's is going on with my life that I'm sending a minor nudes. Told me he was trying to keep his wife from going to the cops but it's going to take some time because she had a panic attack and had to go to the hospital. He calls later and says we can do 2 things. 1) my family and his family can meet athe the police station and let them handle it or 2) I can send him 700 to cover a plane ticket to send his daughter back to south Carolina to live on a farm with her grandparents but that she also has to go to therapy in new York. At this point I was very flustered and actually senthe him $200 via money gram at Walmart. He tells me he got the money but to check in with him everyday by texting him in the morning and say "checking in" until I can pay the rest of the money... I did some research today to find that this was a scam and I'm kicking myself in the ass for not searching this before sending the 200. I showed him what I was reading and said "isn't it crazy that everything your asking me to do is the same thing from this scam?" And he said he's a 40 year old trying to raise a family and doesn't have time for games (but everything was in broken English and bad grammar, complete words were missing from sentences as well, even when I was talking the the "daughter"). I said I think you are trying to scam me and that we are done here. Then he tried threatening me with court and said I hope that website can keep you out of jail...then he said don't be crying when the cops come to pick you up... so from what I have read I will be expecting a call from the "authorities" asking me to just send money to this person....needless to say I have blocked the number and have not sent and more money... he said his name was Robert, daughter was emily. I don't remember the pof account name (cancelled my account) but the number for the father is 843-267-8273... I deleted the text with the "daughter" but the number was similar.. when the father called it came up as South Carolina.

Can you post a link to the POF account so we can kill it ? Also you need to report this on the IC3 website .

It means the cockroach has been cruising this forum . Why would this cockroach be cruising this forum if it wasn't a scam . It actually shows how desperate this cockroach is getting . You need to do yourself and the planet a big favor and report this . He's obviously in the USA and I'm sure the FBI wants him real bad by now . There is plenty of evidence that this is a scam . Don't let him threaten and scare you into not filing the Report .

I had a girl, it said she was 18 on the profile. she sent her number after 10 messages. I texted her, she said she wanted to send a picture to which I said that was up to her. she sent and asked me for one I sent it. first time ever doing that. I she tells me she's almost 16 (age of consent here) and then the next day her Uncle taking care of her calls saying she threw the phone against the wall and it shattered (he's using the same number) and says she's 14, says hes on my side after he already talked to the lawyer and his wife wants to call the police. he wants me to get a pre paid card at walgreens and send it to him with 566.12 dollars USD for the phone. I say I can pay 200 he says fine and wants to know when he can get the rest of the money after I do that (I didn't). he says he'll get his lawyer to call. Lawyer calls and texts from the same number asking me to call back. I had called my youth leader from church who is a police officer agrees that its a scam.

I paid no money.I blocked them number and sent screen shots from todays events to my youth leader. but majority of it was a phone call. I will file with IC3, I am 18 recently turned 18.
can you all confirm this is a scam?

Read the preceding 9 pages . That's your confirmation its a scam . And yes definitely file with the IC3.

This is a very horrific scam and you can see how much it unnerves most folks.

I know I was glad that I know a friend in law enforcement I was panicked and first until I researched the number. its not a number from here, couldn't say his last name fast, couldn't tell me the name of his lawyer, used the same number that was from the girl and the phone was supposedly shattered and then the lawyer uses the same number and texts from it, he paused to talk to his wife when I couldn't hear another voice, asked for money on a pre paid card so I can get him for blackmail if its real, and the girls profile said 18.

Its a scam . Your police officer friend confirmed it and it is the same scam as many other victims already described . Also that profile says age 18 .
