Blackmail Scams - Sextortion Scams

Also worth noting whoever it was wanted to meet last night and get directions to my house. They got nothing

Had this happen to me yesterday and was researching the topic. That's how I ended up here and decided to create an account to help others. Anyways, I was on POF and messaged this girl saying she was 27. Name was amberkissez111. I even had proof she was 27 cuz I screenshot her profile and pics to show a friend. So we start texting over the phone and send some pics. She was talking about meeting up and she was like an hour away. But I didn't agree to anything. So later that day I get some missed calls and then a voice mail saying it's ambers dad and she's a minor and to call him back. I call him not knowing it's a scam then. My profile doesn't have my first name. He asks my name and I give him a fake one. Always give a fake name if this happens. He starts spewing the same bs about his wife going to the cops. Mind you I'm at work so I'm not trying to deal with this bs. I block his number. He says we can forget about this if I help pay for his wife's laptop. He asks if there's a Walgreens or cvs near me. I lie and say yeah like twenty minutes away, when I was literally in one like I am now. So he says to get a visa gift card. I ask for proof she's 14 and he says she doesn't have id, obvious. So i ask for a birth certificate. He says they just moved but he'll look for one. Tell me how this dumass sends me a pic with the tag huffpost uk topic lol. I research it and it's Prince Williams child birth certificate. Whatever the child's name is. I ask him thru text what he wanted, and he said about the gift card. I did this so I could have proof of the blackmail. I told him not to contact me again or I'll report him to the cops. I filed a complaint with the ftc. He hasn't contacted me since.


Short version: give a fake name and ask for proof. No reason to be scared or give in to their demands. They can't charge you unless you knowingly solicited a minor. I'm sure if it's true, the minor can be charged for entrapment.

A parent or guardian would not seek the route of a bribe. They will not ask for money to be sent by untraceable methods (Western Union, Moneygram, Prepaid scratch off cards, Prepaid Visa/Mc, Amazon cards or etc.

Only a Judge or Grand Jury can find PC to authorize a warrant.

LEO's would not ask you to comply with blackmail. His/her job is fact finding and present it to the proper authority for review.

I have never heard of minor being charged with entrapment. If that was the case there would be No statutory rape laws.

Savy internet users can photo shop a birth certificate.

Bottom line do not send comprising photos to anyone. This will include people you have physically met face to face. Break ups can cause misery.

Just because these turds change their MO doesn't mean I'm gonna let them scam anyone . EXTORTION is illegal no matter what . Do not pay these TURDS ANYTHING .

In February I was talking to this girl on POF, we exchanged numbers immediately and started chatting. She then told me that she is 17 and if I was cool with it. I said as long as we are having a good conversation I dont mind. The same day she sent me a nude picture(nothing sexual) and she asked for one. I was a little drunk at that time and stupidly I sent her a picture which I took from the internet again nothing sexual. We exchanged some more texts and decided to meet. Suddenly, i get a call from her father who was pissed off, who said that he is shocked and realy angry and his wife wants to press charges against me. He said that if somehow if I arranged for 5000 to send her daughter back to GA he would calm his wife down and not press charges against me. But I got the money down to 2000. I was so terrified that I paid the money and he said that he will never call me back again and that he never wants to talk to me. In April again he texts me that it would be good if I call him and it benefit myself. He said that his daughter has cut her veins and he wants me to pay the medical bills which were 3000. The money dropped to 500 when I said I don't have that much money. I paid him off and blocked the number. In June, I received a call from a officer in SC saying that he has come to know about the whole situation and if I sort things out with the father, he would not press charges. The father calls me in the next 5 mins and asks me for more 4500 for medical bills. I get him down to 450 and pay it off. Then he calls me back in July, saying that he has to put her in counselling and if I dont pay for private counselling he will have to put her in state run facility. And if they come to know he can't do anything. I got so terrified that I paid him 350. But i just wanted advice from you. I have changed my number. But is this is a scam ? I am still terrified about this whole situation. I don't wanna go to jail. Please help.

I think mine is pretty much the same story as everyone else here. Started talking to a girl on POF then we started texting. Sent selfy to each other all very appropriate. She claimed on POF to be 20 then tells me shes 16 that her last bf was 37 and she can take a lot of you know what. Anyway I told her to find someone her own age. She then sends me a nude picture though there is no face so it could have been anyone. At this point and the horrible spelling grammar. I knew something was up and I have a habit of messing with people. So I proceeded to ask for her to give me a selfy with her holding up the peace sign. Of course she was never able to do instead she says her stomach hurts and sends me the only 2 pictures she had on her POF profile. I guess she couldnt remember I had already seen those. So I ignore her and move on. Next day she texts me from a different number and magically has a new phone number. She then asks me to add her on facebook, which I didn't it was obvious fake with 11 friends atleast one from Nigeria. Plus one profile picture she posted 4 times which is the same one she sent me. She then proceeds to tell me shes adding more pictures soon and I tell her I'm only interested in the specific selfy i had been asking for. Never hear anything until today I get a text from someone who claims to be her father and saying her mother caught her masturbating to my text. I will admit it made me laugh pretty hard because I never sent anything inappropriate. Its safe to say this is a scam correct? The number called me and i didn't answer just blocked it.. Information I have is below. For what its worth they did claim to be from SC and these are SC verizon numbers. Given the fact I never talked to the person that called me, should I still report it?

I didnt get names. I just blocked the numbers and moved on. I believe the POF name was summerfun1027 . It was deleted shortly after we started texting. I take it from the picture you posted this one has been used in this scam before?

Just happened to my son this morning, received a call from a supposed father stating that his daughter had attempted suicide last night and was in the hospital and also stated that it was his responsibility to pay for her hospital bill. she had a POF profile, was deleted sometime prior to this morning, they exchanges pics. called from a baton rouge phone number ( we live in florida, stated they had just moved from alabama to panama city) ph# 225-900-2040. he said his name was robert. told him to go on to the police, then sent a screenshot of the scam to his number. that was an hour ago and no response. thank goodness i work in emergency services and have a good relationship with a lot of law enforcement officers in my area to go to for advice.

Thank you for this site. not going to say a word to them about this, also sent him a pic that said " Im your huckleberry" four hours or so and still no response, confused? would it be that I had my gun collection in the background?, the AR's, beretta M96, >270 with 50MM scope or the winchester 30-30 and the foot locker full of ammo that might have given him the idea he was done with me?
