Ignore them . Don't pay these cockroaches anything . It's a blackmail scam . File a police report and make a report on the ic3 website .

As in the previous case they were able to get information on you . Possibly from a foreign call center . File a Report .

I most definitely appreciate it. Should I deactivate my fb for right now?
by Terminator5 Fri Aug 16, 2019 9:37 pm

This person's desperate. Made a new # that's in my area and in a city I know, trying to "make sure before he did something he can’t take back". So he's threatening now?

File a police / ic3 Report . This is how these cockroaches operate . Threats and intimidation . Ignore the threats . File a report.

Sure. The meetme profile was deleted not long after we'd talked. I also encountered it again on reddit, but that username was deleted. The phone #s were 6692001828 and 8652857175. When I looked them up, the 669 was a pinger in San Jose, CA and the 865 was a textplus in Harriman, TN. And I did file a ic3 report

Inmates posing as women online blackmailed hundreds of troops in ‘sextortion’ scheme

November 28, 2018

The South Carolina inmates filled their time posing as women and scrolling social media and dating sites until a few key details caught their eyes.

Cropped hair. Proximity to military bases. Maybe a photo or two in uniform.

Then, the messages to entrap and blackmail service members began from within the walls of South Carolina correctional facilities, crafted with a simple and terrifying scheme, authorities said.

After romantic messages and racy photos were exchanged, prisoners would pose as the fictitious girl’s father, telling victims that she was underage and the images constituted child pornography.

Pay money to make it go away, the inmates demanded, or police would be notified.

In all, 442 troops from across the country fell prey, paying out more than $560,000 in the “sextortion” scheme, authorities said Wednesday, after five arrests and 15 indictments in the wake of a crackdown on an elaborate network.

Seen this one three time now - though I obviously have learned my lesson. It starts with a kik message from a girl in Ohio whose 21 (responding to you), she sends me a clothed photo first and asks if i'd be up for anything. She is always a barrista and marketing major (sometimes specifies a bit more - starbucks, business marketing, etc). She asks for a face pic first - seem fine right? but then she'll ask for a clear pic that shows both your full nude body and face - thats when you stop - though if you don't (from my first experience, i can tell you) she'll ask for a facebook name - definitely don't do that. That's where I stopped. If you don't do that the threats will be to expose your pic as a random accounts on kik, especially to minors, or on some other social media or porn site- like pornhub, etc. If you call the scammer out, they become very angry and the threats start immediately. I wish I saved their kik handles or pics to warn you better - there was an Erin Percy and a Charlene Bradley, cant remember the third. shut it down fast. And don't pay. And maybe stop using kik....

Hello. Last night, a dark haired girl named Harmony sent me a message on Badoo, starting off by saying "Hey Handsome". Her profile says she was 24 and living in Charlottesville, VA. After a couple of messages, she sends me her number and tells me to text her. After texting, she tells me that she moved with her sister. She said that she was going to charge her phone so we could video chat. I ended up going to sleep for work. I woke up and had two missed calls from her. I texted her back and she responded back, which was like around 3am. She sends me a pic of her in her panties so I sent a face pic. She then sends a nude and starts talking sexually and like a moron, I sent two explicit photos. After a few more sexual texts, she tells me that she was going to bed and she'll text me back later. After a few hours, I get a text claiming to be her dad, yelling in all caps and saying his daughter is a minor and saying I need to call and convince them not to go to the law. I called and he talks down on me saying what I did was disgusting and that it was her moms phone. I noticed that the area code was from South Carolina. He asked if we can settle this in-house and I said yes so he said he would call me back. After a few minutes, he does and says that he's flying his daughter back to where she came from and needs to pay for classes by CPS as this could be mentally damaging to her. He asked if I could pay through cashapp and after paying, I needed to apologize to the mom. Well I ended up paying $500. Afterwards, the 'mom' got on the phone and I apologized. After a couple hours, the person claiming to be the mom again sent me a text asking if I was free. She then called and said I needed to pay another $825 to finish paying for the classes or she would have to send the previous payment back and have CPS press charges. I told her I would have to wait until tomorrow morning as I forgot my debit card in the atm and can't find it. I have the cashapp tag and when I looked up the number, 803-552-8801, a directory says it belongs to a [Removed - AJ].

I see a lot of similar stories, but none of which people have found a name and address to the number contacting them. I'm about to file a complaint to IC3.

Any thoughts or advice? This situation has me really distraught.

It's the same scam . File an ic3 and police report . Don't pay these cockroaches anything . Also post links to any online profiles they are using .

They are probably using caller ID spoofing and the number you saw , was not the number they were calling from . Report it .

Thx

If they were using caller ID spoofing, how was I able to call the number back and the scammers answered?

This has all the essential elements of the previous scams dating back years:

1 Overage female profile

2 Followed by aggressive sexting / texting

3 Later claims are made that that the individual on the profile is under age and demands are made for fake damages .

All we can do is give an opinion that it is the SAME SCAM . What you do with that opinion is up to you . Blackmail is illegal . If you want to continue to pay it, its never going to stop .

I WOULD ADVISE YOU NOT TO PAY THEM ANYTHING AND REPORT IT AND LET THE PROFESSIONALS INVESTIGATE .
