Very typical response for an African scammer after he is "outed." He is still holding out a slight hope that if he continues to pretend to be innocent and offended, you will decide he is real and/or feel guilty enough that he can get money out of you, or at least get you to withdraw your report (because he is undoubtedly scamming others at the same itme, and if they see your posts he wil lose them too.)
He has no intention of giving your money back. He might try to "pay" you by using you as a mule to cash fraudulent checks or launder other stolen money--of course then you are the one who can end up facing criminal charges.
Just ignore him -- do not respond at all.
