I would like to report a romance scam from Anthony Jones , I met him on meetic early this month, and we have been communicating everyday by chat, email and phone .
I am from Paris, France, but lived in the USA for so long that I speak good english enough to recognize accents and nuances of the language .
Everything was fine with Tony, up to this morning, he was supposed to meet me in Paris , and he said he had a car accident, he said he was an Engineer working on Amusement parks, and had last week to go to Nigeria for his work , a big contract he said , & he will go directly from there to Paris to meet me .
This morning, he called me at 6am, saying he is not coming, he had a car accident and was in the coma for 2 days, lost his wallet , he needed 1500 euros that I must sent urgentely to him by western union.
I didn't believe a word of this, and I refused to sent any money to somebody I don't know ... I did some researches on internet , and found your website , ... what a surprise to me !!!
it was too beautiful to be true as they said ... he is using a different email now TONY jones [email protected]

He tried to get me.... met him on match under beetledheart44. He is now going under the name Micheal Bale. I caught him hust in time as he sent me a wrong email talking about being married for 9 years. He also has another new number and claims he is in UK coming home in 3 weeks. Same routine... wife and mother died in Paris pon 2/13 has an 8 year old son Douglas. He wanted me to find us a house for around 350K when he returns. I called him on it though and he said he would talk to me when he stopped crying that his hopes of being happy are over.... has anyone met him ever? I looked up his screen name which on yahoo is [email protected] and the IP address shows CA. I also have pictures that he has posted....good thing I never told my daughter about him... knew it was too good to be true.

Please be mindful that he is likely to contact you under a different name and/or pass your details onto other scammers to try their luck on you.

Pictures currently used by this scammer;

The last pictures shown are currently being used by him under the name Alfred Hefner. I met him on match.com as pearlheart65 and yes, I fell in love with "Alfred". Only today in his most recent email to me did he slip--there was a line in it saying something about Anthony Jones. So I googled it and it brought me to your page...where my worst fears were confirmed as you have the pictures and even some of the same writing.

He now says he is a petroleum engineer working in the Philipines. Still sticking with the losing his wife and mother in Paris two year ago. Douglas was seriously hurt in an accident as he was nearing the end of his project. He didn't ask me directly for the remaining money he needed for the surgery but I knew he was struggling. And now he is looking for money to complete his project so they can head home--once his son is healed. But he hasn't come out and asked for it but obviously that was coming next!! So glad I caught the line today--feel like an idiot. Wanting this romance to be real--I am most upset about the emotional damage done to me by this.

He had a profile on Facebook. I have reported him to Facebook and match.com both. His email now is [email protected]. Other information he had told me: he was currently living in Davenport, IA. Says he has lived in Boston and New York. Born in Germany. Went to college in Sweden by living with his aunt. Even told me the name of the school that Doulgas attended in Davenport--Garfield Elementary. Said his full name was Alfred Thomas Hefner. Born October 10, 1965.

Please let people know of the name Alfred Hefner!! Now I know why I couldn't find anything on him when I googled him. I hope we can stop this so no one else is preyed upon like us. His name shows up now on the google searh. I am so glad that it does--so anyone else talking to him now can stop before they get in to deep into his trance.
