Romance Scammer????

Thanks for posting! If he's sending the same script to lots of other people, they'll be able to search phrases and figure out that he's a scammer.

The Bible quote is real, but I didn't recognize the phrasing. It's from the Good News Translation, which I'm not familiar with. It doesn't sound relevant to his kind of "love".

Notice how the email starting with Hello Sweetheart contains much better English than the other emails. This is a strong sign that it is copied. A quick search for one of the lines (you have to put it in quotation marks to get exact matches) shows me that this scammer, like most African romance scammers, likes to steal his words from lovingyou.com:

Romance scammers often emphasize God and religion for the same reason many pretend to be devoted dads--it is hard for most of their targets to believe that a person with those qualities could be a liar and a thief. Unfortunately, these scammers have no problem stealing from victims during the week and attending church services on Sunday. Some even go so far as to pray to God to send them victims (magas).

Thanks for everyone's help on here. I noticed over the weekend after putting my experience with this scammer on this website it appeared on Google which I was very glad to see. Hopefully it will help someone else who might come up against this same peson. As of today in regards to "google images" somehow the photo shots of this scammer and profile picture he has been using have been taken off of google images. I don't have a clue how that happened but would love to get those pictures back up on google images if someone would google his name. Thanks again.

I got some good news today. I was able to locate the person whose pictures the scammer was posting as himself. It was by sheer luck that I found this person and was able to locate his blog somehow with the pictures. Google somehow pulled up his picture and I found the gentleman whose pictures have been used these past few months that I was led to believe was Wesley Englund. It's been a lesson learned for myself and my sister. Thank you so much for all your help on this site and advice.

Your suspicions are correct this is a scammer. I could point out a lot of errors but that would educate scammers how to better there scripts and we do not want that to happen. What I can say is the writting style is not from someone living in the US. If you google parts of the email it's posted all over the Internet on various anti-scam sites. As you already stated he's using a proxy to hide his real identity.

Please post the scammers email address it will help others avoid this scammer.

So glad I did a google name search for "Wesley Englund" and the name popped up on this site. i received the same e-mail, and picture to day from him. He found my info on ourtime.come.

Another scammer/spammer....his wording and writing did not match anyone that was an officer in the military, my suspicious made me google his name and I found a bio for the person who this person was claiming to be.
For some reason I can't seem to copy/paste his picture here. When I found out after the 1st e-mail who is wasn't I sent him a copy of the bio and pics I found, not another e-mail from him...guess he didn't like being busted.
