Scamming is BIG business. There are literally thousands of these scammers who are scamming for a living, and they are responsible for losses of MILLIONS of dollars. As people become more aware of scams, the scammers use more tools to make themselves look more real. Fake video is an increasingly common tactic, and it is actually pretty easy for the scammer.

Scammers will choose to use photos of people who also have videos online, or people who look very similar to a real person who has video online. For example, they might pick someone who has posted personal videos to youtube, or an actor or actress.

Then the scammer simply saves the video to his hard drive, and he uses special software that is inexpensive and easily available (in fact, it is often sold from scammer to scammer) to edit the video in order to create a fake video message or even to fake webcam. This is extremely common with scammers posing as females--they will often use photos and videos of porn actresses--but we are seeing it more often with scammers with male characters too.

Could you post the text of the email? It was sent from a BlackBerry, which doesn't tell me much.

Yes, I believer this man whoever it is is a scammer. I met him on Meetme.com and his name there was Jeff Robert. He quickly started texting me and wanted me to befriend his daughter Stacy Alan on Facebook and his good friend from High School by the name of Rainey Ann. Ann is her first name and Rainey her last. Jeff states his true name is Jefferson Alan, and is deaf because of an Army accident. This is about the 10th scammer I've come across on dating websites. I've discovered some common threats in all the scammers their wives have always died. I guess this gets the sympathy of the victim. One thing I've learned to so is google search their email address.

I suppose these people don't really want to get a job and work they want to lie to people and have these people send them money, computers or anything.

Trust your gut feelings!

Please post email addresses and the Facebook links of the scammers fake profiles. They are all his and not separate people.

So it sounds like [email protected] from Greenville, SC is fake? Met her on Sugardaddyforme.com.

Most likely, yes.

But both the first and last names are common enough that it is possible to have 2 people with the same name. We would need to see one or two emails or messages from her to say with absolute certainty.
