Glad you got your Facebook sorted. It's sad that people should have to worry about their photos etc. being stolen, but unfortunately, the reality is that these scammers will take whatever they can get their hands on, and they don't care who they hurt in the process.
one time he did ask me to skype so I could give some words of encouragement to his soldiers since im a Christian. I found that strange necause he asked me or tried to get me to do specific things like touch my nose or put my hand up.
From your description, it was indeed a scammer. Of course he couldn't give you an address, because he is not a soldier. He is an African man collecting tools for his scams. The skype part is a bit disturbing, actually, because it shows a level of planning that is not very common in these scammers. He wanted you on skype so that he could record the session and use the recording to create fake webcam. As more people become aware of fake webcam, more are also learning to ask the person on the other side to perform a specific action (like touching their nose) to show that the webcam is real and not recorded. The scammer was trying to get you to perform these actions so that he could record them, and then use the recorded actions to "prove" to victims that he is really you.
While I can understand wanting to research this guy, it is important that you block his access to your FB, because if he is "friend" he can still access the things you are trying to protect. If you do have it, providing the FB profile he used to approach you will help as well.
