If you responded to a profile of someone over the age 18 and than later got a call from a "father" claiming the age was much younger and making claims for various damages . This is a scam . Damages that are due victims are decided by the courts. Not dictated by West African Blackmail scammers . Please report this scam on the IC3 website .

I was contacted by a girl on Pof and she wanted to text me. I gave her my number and she texted me and she started talking about sex right away. She claimed to be 20 on her profile. She then sent me a low quality picture of herself exposing herself. She then asked for one from me that I sent. She then said she was 16. Soon after that I ceased contact. She tried to text me a few days later and I told her off. A few days later after that I received a call from a detective from NC asking if I knew a certain man (I forget the name). He said he received a disturbing complaint from a father that I sent sexual photos to a minor. He then listed all the charges I would face and then give me the fathers phone number to try and get him to drop the charges. I called the father and he then chewed me out. After pleading with him he said he would talk to his wife.. who he said was the one who found the phone and the messages and went straight to the police. After about 15mins I called him back and he said he was going to ruin my life and I was going to jail. He said he was a bail bondsman and was embarrassed because he has the work with the same law enforcement. After pleading with him he finally said if I paid him back for the lawyer fees he would drop the charges. He asked for $1000 then for $200 every other week 10 times. He said I couldn't mention this to anyone because he could get fired from his job for blackmail. He said to use MoneyGram or Walmart to Walmart services and send the money to his sister in Florida. This all sounded so real, but after reading some similar stories I didn't know if this was a scam? He used this number: +1 (678) 506-5626

Other points that mark this as 100% Scam

*Profile on POF was for someone 20 and POF Terms of Service mandate that no one under the age of 18 can use the site .

*Why would a detective from North Carolina be calling for someone with a Georgia Phone Number .

*Why would these funds be going to yet another State , Florida .

*With a few minor variations its basically the same scam as the previous 29 pages .

If he calls back tell him you have reported him for child endangerment for neglectfully allowing his daughter to sign up on that website .

Hey everyone. I am in the very early stages of this exact same scam and just wanted to share my story, as well as obtain some guidance. Two days ago I was contacted by an 18 year old girl through Plenty of Fish, who messaged me first and wanted to get my cell number very quickly to text. Her name was Amber and she was wearing South Carolina gamecocks clothing in her 2 pof photos, flipping the camera off. I eventually let curiosity get the best of me and gave my number.

A few hours later, I got a text from "Amber," who wanted a contact photo of me. The texts were grammatically awful, but I guess I let that slide. We exchanged one "contact" photo each, and then she asked if I wanted to swap nudes. Throughout this entire time, there is no mention that she is under 18 years old. We send a few back and forth, 2 each, and then the conversation stops.

A few hours later, I got a text from the same phone stating that it was her father, Mr. Hill, and that I needed to explain why I was sexting his 16 year old daughter. He mentioned that his wife had found out and that she would be going to the police unless we could work things out like men. I 1 text back being apologetic, and explained that the profile said 18 and there was no mention of any other age.

I called the number and spoke with a guy who sounded like he had a very very Deep South accent. He told me his wife was raped when she was 6 or 7 years old and that unless we settle this like men, they would go to the police. He said he would call me back in 20 minutes after talking to his wife.

At this time, I began reading up on this scam and came across this thread. I have since blocked the number, but still monitor incoming messages. He was looking for me to pay the disconnect fee on the phones since it was a family plan, and when I didn't respond, stated that they were going to the police.

I have since deleted the pof app, blocked his number, and submitted a tip to the FBI via the link provided. After reading all 30 pages here, I felt more comfortable that this was a scam, and hope my story provides the same to you, if it happens.

Phone number: 864-377-4400
Girls name: Amber
Father: Mr. Hill ( I think)
PoF: Pij___ (3 numbers, i forget what #s)

I have only been contacted via 1 number thus far, but anticipate the use of many others.

Two things that stand out to me:
(1) the "father" used the word "son" multiple times in the text messages.
(2) in the photos of the girl, there appeared to be many small birthmarks on the thigh of one of her legs. Not sure if anyone has been trapped by these photos before.

Wondering if I've been scammed or if there's other issues I need to be concerned with.

Liked a profile on Fling http://www.fling.com. It's a paid site to meet people of fun and more. Have to have a CC and minimum age is 18 to get a profile. Girls name was Vickie and said she was from Charlotte NC. Said she was 19, out of school, not in college yet, and looking for some fun. I replied and we struck up a conversation. Stupidly we then took it offline to texting. Her profile then quickly disappeared from the Fling site-it's no longer there, nor are any messages we exchanged.

We chatted a good bit via text and exchanged a couple pics-all 'G' rated over a couple weeks. Getting responses were kinda sketchy, but I just rolled with it-usually super late in the evening/night. Kept complaining that her phone didn't work right and that trees kept her from getting good signal-even went as far as saying that her Carrier said it was the trees causing the issue. She would disappear for days at a time, so I didn't bother much.

Then last week, we chatted a few times then stupidly she goaded me into some sexting. She sent pics of her nude and I did as well. She signed off for the late evening, then suddenly all communication stopped.

Next thing I know couple days later, I'm getting 1-2 calls a day for a week straight from her number, in the afternoon/evening but not leaving a message or anything. Also, the messaging stopped too. Then out of the blue, I get a text from someone who claims is her stepfather and he and his wife want to talk with me about the 'things they found on her phone'. At that time this person (southern sounding kinda guy-but nice and all) also left a voicemail for the 1st time saying the same thing and they wanted to 'wait till after Thanksgiving' to make the call, even though they'd been calling with no messages left for a week+. Freaked me out, but if you were concerned why wait for more than a week to make contact?!

My only reply was that immediately apologized via text, blocked the number, erased and deleted all data I could find. Deleted the email account I used (Gmail), deleted my Fling account, wiped my laptop completely, wiped my phone as well as best I could and know how to do. This contact had no access to my Facebook or other social media other than texting, the deleted Gmail, and Fling profile.

Again, her profile is no longer on http://www.fling.com and she seemed to disappear pretty quickly.

Person's name is Vickie (Vickie Greene I think). Email she used is [email protected] - I'm attempting to deduce that the email (9797) could be that she's about 19-20 (I hope...)

Phone number that called me is 1-704-281-0696. Comes up as 'Charlotte NC'. I tried some searching, and it's either Charlotte or Concord

I've also tried record searches and lookups and other social media ways to see if this person was real to not much avail.

God, I'm completely freaked out. This has some similarities of some of the postings here, but is different in it's own way. Am I completely screwed? Sound like anything that's happened before to anyone?

Any thoughts appreciated.

long story short, i've read a lot of posts about people being scammed by a girl, who either gives you their number or vise versa. but then she starts sending pics that you didnt ask for or you did but didnt think anything of it because her profile said she was 18,19, or 20.
then all of a sudden you get a phone call from the same number she gave you, and before then all communication has stopped. my situation was, we exchanged numbers, she sent nudes. some people say they have sent nudes but if you sent some and what you sent and were clothed. you're good. this guy called me and said he was this girl "sara's" uncle and he was a PI. which first of all, no dang PI would contact you, but he asked me for money to shut down her phone because of the family plan, plus pay for therapy, plus he mentioned something about her mother was raped when she was young and its bringing up stuff from the past, then he says im gonna talk to the family and see what they want to do, 15-20 mins later you get a call saying he wants money and itll all go away, and at first i was going to because at that point you're scared crapless.... but this is a scam, it is not real, post your numbers post everything you have received and shut this down. he said his name was mr hunter. here are the numbers, yes thats right, a dang "PI" called me on 3 different numbers..

So I think I'm being scammed with the same thing from pof. Girl have me her number right away we talked normallyou send a pic or two of my face and she did too. Then she send me a pic of her body naked but no face. I send her a pic as well. She rarely responded and only around 7 or 8 pm. Then I get a call her from her father whos telling me she was under aged and had my text with her on the phone and will turn it in the police. He said if I pay the activation fee and new phone he won't press chargestart. So I did and now he say have to pay for her ticket back to South Carolina or else he'll press charges. The thing is he always wants me to send the money via western union to his mother in law angela lilly. Uses the word son a lot and that his pregnant wife is frustrated and everything. Couldnt find the profile on pof again or any profiles on facebook with her picture. But she looked older than 16 and her profile said 18. Am I being scammed? I don't want to be scammed anymore or get in worse trouble

The number is from South Carolina 843 263 9153
This is the only number Im being contacted with
Email is [email protected]
Apparently his name is Joseph don
the girls name was Kayla and her profile name was Kayla g
