Why are you so set on claiming your innocence, but you are not prepared to help us to prove it.

If you are genuinely in London, tell us where, and give us a proper UK telephone number, not the stupid "redirect" number. If not then why not own up and admit you have been caught out.

Try some honesty and we will respond in kind, but do not try to fool us as between the members on this site, we have many many years of dealing with scammers, and believe me, we know all the signs.

I've banned cantik's account in case it has been stolen by a John47 or one of his accomplices. If she would like it reopened, she can contact Jillian (site admin) and discuss the situation.\

Either way, John47 is a scammer. His IP is 80.255.61.29 Nigeria (Tinubu). Geography is not my best subject, but I'm fairly certain Nigeria is not in London.

The cafe he uses is probably the most prolific cafe in Nigeria, I have seen that address come up so many times in scams.

Also adding for anybody who may care to know, Victoria Island is one of the most (if not the most) exclusive parts of Nigeria, it is hardly a slum by African standards, this thief lives quite well on the money he makes from scamming which explains why he is so keen on us removing his name.

Also, for CAntik and Vera, the person you have had the misfortune of dealing with is a scammer, he operates from Victoria Island, he will try anything to suit his needs, he will threaten you, he will continue to lie to you, he will tell you if you do not cooperate he will harm you, they do that, please, go to the police, if your life has been threatened, go, do not answer his calls, do not reply to his emails, ignore him, he will go away.

No it was not a mistake. This man is a scammer.

I am so sorry for what this man has done to you, I dont know what lies he has told you or if he has threatened you, but I do know that he is definately a scammer.

Has he told you he has money and needs help or perhaps he has suggested that he is in some kind of trouble and needs your help, whatever it is, it is all lies, he has tried the same lies on one of our other members, he doesn't love you, you need only go back a few posts to where he says "YOU BOTH WILL BURN IN HELL FOR TARNISHING MY NAME."
This same person uses many identities to scam people just like you, he will have a variety of names and identities that he uses and they are all fake.

This is a Nigerian man, lives and operates from Lagos Nigeria, he does not travel the world, he is not from The UK, he is a Nigerian, we can show you countless others who do the same.

He is scamming you and he will continue to scam you until you stop replying to him

Wait and see, he will need even more money for yet another lie, they will never stop and he will send you nothing but lies, hurt and grief, please, stop trusting him before he hurts you even more

I am sorry that this whole situation has affected your friendship with Vita, and I hope Vita is also reading this thread.

You have done nothing wrong--you cared about your friend enough to be concerned that she was putting herself in a bad situation. Your suspicions were correct, too. You kept her name and information private, which was also the right thing to do--it is the scammer who posted her first name, not you. I don't know if Vita is still "hooked" by this scammer, believing everything he says, but I hope that if she is, she will come to see the truth sooner, before she loses too much. Sometimes, unfortunately, in spite of everything we do, a victim has to learn the truth the hard way. If you try to make sure she knows that you are there for her, without judging her, saying "I told you so," or treating her like she is stupid, you have done all you can, and hopefully once her eyes are opened, your friendship will be stronger than ever.

The people on this board have many years of collective experience in dealing with these scammers, and we do understand how serious false accusations can be. He would not have met with the responses he got when he posted if we were not absolutely certain that he is a scammer. We also understand how important it is that the information remain public to save future victims, which is why he has not been removed from this site. He was given the opportunity to answer a few simple questions (which he could have done via pm if he didn't want to post his answers on the board) but he did not pursue them because he knew he couldn't get away with it. His lies start at the most basic level from the moment he claims to be from the UK when all of the evidence--from his poor English, to the name he chose to scam with (he made a very common scammer mistake there), to his physical location that was captured both in his emails and when he decided to post--show that he is not.

If he has threatened you, do not worry. Report the threats to the appropriate authorities, but the truth is, he is not going to come looking for you--in fact, he is highly unlikely to leave Nigeria. These scammers spend their days in an internet cafe close to home--they scam partly because they are lazy, and stealing money from others is much easier than earning it through real work. Eventually, he will move on to his search for new victims.

After discussions with Cantik via email, I have reinstated her account.
