Can you please post more information about how you were scammed . Just posting a question and a phone number really has no scam warning value .

THX

Hello.I am in bad situation.I found girl from meetme dating application. We started to talk.As her profile said she is 18.Then we start to text.At beginning everything so normal. She said me she is 16 and I said I am 21 but I am aware of USA laws.Because I came from another country. She said me I want serious relationship, she is working and etc. After I sent her my photos(normal) she also sent me hers. She sent photos like semi nude.I said to her lets take it off. Then sshe sent me nude pics and I also send my nude photos(without my face) to her.But when I know it is illegal in USA,I kindly explained her situation and I mentioned her that we must stop and I will not respond her anymore. After 1 day I recieved call from her.One guy said me he is her father and we must talk and I must explain to him what happened. Then he sent me the message I must call to him back or he report it to the police. He also sent me his phone number.I blocked both numbers. This guy did not ask me for money at first. But If conversation continue,he may be ask.I dont know may be not.But today I unblock and try to call these numbers. After 3 beeps it s automatically went to voicemail. After this I blocked both numbers again.I could not sleep all night. Please help me

Blackmail Scams/Sextortion Scams.

There are various types of these scams. I will explain a few.

Many Social Media Sites such as Skype, Kik, Facebook, Pof and Chatroulette are a home for Scammers and Thieves to use to scam by using threats of fear and/or criminal charges.

This scam involves 'grooming' a potential victim into sending compromising photographs/video to the scammer - In some scams the scammer/thief will, initially, send compromising pictures which he/she will say are of him/her -- these will be stolen from elsewhere

Types of blackmail/sextortion scams:

Threatening to send your images to your Facebook friends and family.

Scammer will meet you on a social media site and ask to exchange compromising images. He may have asked prior or will ask later to be added to your Facebook account.

Now the scam begins. He will tell you to send money via Moneygram, Western Union, Amazon gift card, Prepaid scratch off card or any other untraceable method to him.

He will tell you if you do not comply he will send the photo’s to your Facebook friends list.

Another version of this scam is Under Age girls/boys.

The scammer will meet you again on a social media site. He/she will tell you they are over the age of 18. As you progress communicating with this person/scammer he will ask to exchange indecent photographs/video.

After you exchange photo’s you will be contacted by the scammers fake "Father" or "Mother". They will tell you that you sent pictures to an under age girl/boy. They will want you to send money for therapy or for them not to go to the police. In some cases the scammer has contacted victim pretending to be Law Enforcement, possibly going as far as to spoof the number of a real local Law Enforcement department to make it appear that they are calling.

There are also seen cases where a scammer pretends to an online agent looking for pedophiles. This scam is using the same payment methods mentioned above. The Scammer will tell you that if you pay them they will not report it.

Recommended Actions:

It is best to stop all contact with the scammers. Ignore his calls and messages.

Ignore all demands for money. If you pay the scammer he will continue to blackmail you. You will only stop paying when you go broke or realize you are being scammed.

Deactivate your Facebook account for two weeks. Change your photo or avatar when you reactivate it or get a new one. Also change your user name. Do not accept requests from anyone you have never met.

Do the above for all social media and Skype.

You may have to change your phone numbers.

File a report with your local law enforcement agency and to one of the following below if possible.

I sent intimate photos/video to my scammer or he says he recorded my activities on webcam, and now he is threatening to publish them. What can I do?
Unfortunately, there is not much you can do. The only advice we can give you is not to give in to blackmail demands, and once again, cut off ALL contact with the scammer. If he cannot reach you, he cannot blackmail you. If he knows that he has power over you, he will continue to abuse that power and demand more and more money. He may promise to destroy the photos/video, but remember he is a liar and a thief, and his promises are worth nothing.

The truth is, in most cases the scammer will not follow through with this threat, because following through will cost him time and money. If he tries to post anything pornographic, most public sites would delete it anyway. In the unlikely event that he does post something, you need to be proactive and contact the site immediately to have it removed. Depending on the threats, you may want to file a report with law enforcement.

Just remember for the future that any photo or video you give to ANYONE is out of your control, and anything you do on webcam can be recorded. This particular issue is not exclusive to scammers - the internet is full of stories of angry people who posted intimate details or photos/video of ex-partners after a relationship ended badly.

If you sent or received nudes knowing or believing that you were communicating with a minor the above does not apply to you.

In this situation, we are not willing/nor will assist you.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

Ignorance is no defense - you willingly shared naked photos with someone you believed was 16 years old - I'd look for a good lawyer if I was you.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

Extortion and Blackmail are illegal no matter what the circumstances. 803-521-8360 , marked as an unsafe caller 4 weeks ago . Don't pay them anything . Report any extortion attempts.

That phone numbers appearance on a telephone database website with a rating of unsafe indicates a history of criminal activity and creates the extreme probability that this is a scam .

I got in contact with a girl on POF claiming to be 21, we exchanged numbers and began texting, she immediately wanted to send me nude pictures and stated she was 17 and was going to turn 18 in a couple months, I knew from the get go that it was a scam because I reverse image lookup her pictures and came from a porn site, so I proceeded to talk and send her a picture from the internet (Man's genitals). After I sent her the picture she immediateley stopped talking to me and the next day I receive a call from a detective claiming that I was sexting with her underage daughter which I did (intentionally to see how far the scam was willing to go) and said that I had to call the father to settle it with him if I didnt want to go to jail, 10 minutes later the "father" contacts me and asks me for money 1250 exact for the laptop that her daughter broke. I said sure I can pay that and asked him how he wanted me to pay him, he replied with moneygram, western union, etc.. Since then I have not contacted the scammer although he keeps texting me. I just hope I don't get in trouble for actually sending and accepting her pictures, any insight on that?

But man scammers are horrible people!

Take a screenshot . Snipping Tool photo of the fake profile . We don't advocate communication with these scammers . When you are positive it's a scam just post the profile here so we can look at it .

The account has been deleted, I can provide one of her pictures if you allow it(fully clothed).

Best thing for you to do is file a report . We allow the stories to be posted here so other potential victims can recognize this as a scam . The " Broken Laptop" was used in previous scams .

Yeah I knew it was a scam from the get go because I reverse image looked up her pictures and she was from a porn site with hundreds of nude pictures and there also a twitter account with those pictures. The pictures from the original website were uploaded in 2012. I will report it. Im concerned about getting in trouble for tolling the scammer and accepting nudes from a fake 17 year old, I sent him one aswell from the internet and from there the same story of a detective and father asking for money. Can you get in trouble for trolling the scammer that way?
