The call from the "police department" was spoofed to look like it was them calling, which is why they didn't have a clue what you were talking about when you called them.

Just block all the numbers and don't respond any further to the scammers.

It is a SCAM . 843 area code is in South Carolina . Myrtle Beach . NOT San Jose , California .

Terms of Service on POF are no one under the age of 18 . And although the cockroaches deleted the profile as they usually do , its listed in the google indexes .

On April 15th, I was contacted on pof by a girl named Tasha. Her profile said she was 19. We spoke for a bit and she asked for my number. We exchanged numbers. We texted a bit. She sent a few pictures of herself. Nothing nude, I might add but revealing. I said I like it (in reference to her pictures). We then chatted a bit more. She asked if I liked black girls and I said it's on my bucket list. She then sent a text saying she was really 17 but would be turning 18 on the 18th and had a child due to rape years ago. Whatever. I said I'm sorry to hear that. That must have been rough. She then asked if I like curvy women or thin women and I said curvy is better. Then there was no reply. I asked what she was up to and got nothing for about 2 hours. Finally about 2 hours later, I got a text that when something like this:

This is Mr. Davis, Tasha's father. I have been monitoring the text messages sent between you and my daughter. I have evidence that you committed sexual exploitation or a minor and lewd contact with a minor. You must call me or I will be going to the police. I will be awaiting your call.

Anyways, I was freaked out so I answered one of his attempts. He said that I was in big trouble. His wife wants me locked up and so do her parents (one being an ex marine). He said that something more needed to be done about the situation. He said that he was giving me two choices. First, either fix the situation and charges won't be filed or charges will be filed and the department of justice will make mark me as a pedophile. I pretty much hung up on him then. There was no sexual conversation and I hadn't sent any pictures and only received non- nudes. I told him that he did not know the law if he thought that I did what he said. He claimed to have spoken to his lawyer and his lawyer said that there was enough evidence. Mind you this was a Saturday. Anyways, I'm still paranoid about it.

Anyone got any opinions? Kinda stressed out about it.

Seemed very convincing in comparison to the past ones. Anyways, I have a picture of the profile but don't know how to upload it from my phone.

Wife wants to contact the police.

You need to call or text him.

You can fix the problem. Yea with your hard earned money.

What idiot contacts a lawyer?? Only a criminal that has no clue about the judicial system. A lawyer advising his client to blackmail someone.

It wasn't my real number. Just a texting number. Wouldn't give people my real one.

Also, wanted to say a little about the details of the brief call. Sounded African American for sure. He kept calling me sir like I was a customer.

One of the scammers have a southern accent.

He will use key phrases that Id him.

He attempts to change up when he is posted here and victims/potential victims point him to this thread.

The more reports to IC3 will help in catching this thief or mule.
