Money Scammer Godelieve Vroonen

First contact: "She" sent me a message on tagged. Then I added her on msn.

She claimed to be born in Belgium, but raised in US and now living in Belgium again. She said her grandmother is in hospital. And she needs money (500 Euro) to pay a surgery for her grandmother. She asked me if I can help her, and send her the money. First she wanted me to send it to her bank account, but then she said I should send it via Western Union...

Thank you for reporting this scammer. I'm glad to hear that you did your research before falling victim. Often the same script will be used with multiple names, so if you have still some of "her" emails and the photos this scammer used, posting them will likely help others to avoid being scammed (remove your personal info first as you did with the header).

I have moved this topic to the romance scams forum since this one came from a social networking site. Unfortunately, social networking sites are just flooded with scammers, and some of them are very convincing! The safest rule is to NEVER send money to any person that you have not met face-to-face, in person.

Thank you for your warning about Godelieve Vroonen,spechtenlaan 20,hasselt,Belgium 3500 ..Person.contactdc me trying to buy a painting using the name Williem Seth...tried to get me to except a check for over payment then pay the shipper with the remaining cash....I tried to get them to use FED-EX or UPS......but did finally give me a name...then I pasted in on-line and got the Scammer Warning...THANKS
