Message;

I am a fun loving person. I am a very caring and sensitive person, I am a level headed, down to earth person who is totally devoted to the one I love. I tend to be shy at first, but I will open up quickly with the right person. I am confident, calm, and happy. An introvert by nature, I am quiet, structured, and organized. i think im a pretty easy going person. I love to be
shown affection and dont have any problem what soever showing the right person lots of of it, i always say if its better to give than to receive. I think that i have a pretty "strange" sense of humor at times. i look at it this way Id rather make a joke than to sit around and dwell on things i cant do much of anything about.

[email protected]...is claiming to be Muslim with same general info, to have a son "Jamie" who is three and sick in hospital, that he can't pay the bills to take him home. Phone number +447024069281 which my phone company says is a Russian number.
He claims to live in LA California, but working in London, German origins but that both parents and his wife are dead.
So glad my son smelled a fish from the beginning...never sent him anything.

Welcome Ihateliers,

I'm glad you found out before you lost any money to this scammer.

Your phone company rep was a little confused though. 44-70 numbers are not Russian--rather, they are redirect numbers. Anyone can sign up for a 44-70 number, and simply program it to be forwarded phones all over the world. African scammers use these numbers frequently when they are pretending to be in UK. In reality, if you call the number, it is being forwarded to the scammer's cellphone, most likely in Western Africa or Malaysia. If you see a phone number that starts with 44-70, it is generally best to walk away.

These scammers often use scripts--prewritten emails that they send to many targets. Generally the early emails and the emails around money requests are most likely to be scripted. If you still have this scammer's emails, it will help if you post these (just remove any infor directly related to you such as your name/email). Often they will continue to use the same scripts even after they change names and email addresses--so when you post these, you may help others to avoid being scammed in the future. Also, if you post full headers from one, we may be able to tell you what country he is actually in.
