Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hi everyone,
I'm liz, i've been talking to this guy online for a month now..
He told me he is in US Marine and currently deployed in Minsk for special ops there.. long story short, he really wants to see me and suggest that i should apply on his behalf a vacation permit as his fiancee so it can be granted easily. He said he'll give me more details after.
I'm really a sceptical person so i started looking online for infos and i strongly believe after reading these post that its a scam.
No money was sent yet.
His email address: [email protected]
Can somebody help me telling me what i should do and possibly catch the person if his a scammer?
Thank you

Stop all contact with this criminal, he is not a soldier.
If you are friends with him on facebook, block him.
There is no 'catching' them, they use false names and use money mules to receive money.
If you have a link to his profile, feel free to private message me with the link.
Sorry you were a target of this animal but you did the right thing to do a search on this type of thing.

Please DO NOT tell the scammer he is posted here.

As Ginger has already indicated, this is 100% scam.

suggest that i should apply on his behalf a vacation permit as his fiancee

There is no such thing.

Soldiers apply for their own leave. Nobody else applies for leave for them--not even wives. If they have earned it (based on time served) and the timing is right, they will be granted leave, and it costs nothing. If they have not earned it, they can't have it. They can't buy it either.

The whole "apply for leave for me" concept exists only in the mind of the African romance scammers who invented it.

If you were in contact with a real soldier, and you wrote to the military on his behalf to ask for his leave, the only thing the soldier would get is the opportunity to be the laughingstock of his whole unit.
