Ok, thank you Mike. Well, his name is William Davis, says he is from Hempstead New York, dob 06-10-1966. We met in ok cupid. He's an independent contractor and was working on a bid for a project. First he was sent to London, then to a site in Badagry, Nigeria. His email address is [email protected] and hot mail.com. emails have been sent from two different IP addresses. 65.54.190.89 and 65.54.190.79, but they are listed from Redmond, WA?? Phone number 516-408-2492. The number he calls from in Nigeria is 011-234-815-902-5106. He has not asked me for money at all, but he seems to be the sweetest kindest person I've ever met. However I've found some of his poems on scam letter sites. He has an accent, says he was born in Canada. Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so very much.

He is a scammer. Everything that you described shows he is a scammer.

The IP is of the mail servers.

Romance scammers do not ask for money immediately. They make sure you are fully believing the crap he is selling. Sometimes romance scammers will take a year or more before they ask for money or ask you to receive stolen money/packages.

His accent is West African.

I bet both parents are dead. His wife cheated on him or died of cancer/automobile accident.

He may have fake/pretend child.

The stolen poems are also proof he is a scammer. If you look closely at his writing you will be able to see the difference in his writing skills. A contractor would be educated in the western world writing skills.

He has placed himself in Nigeria because this is where he will ask you to send money to.

Please stop all contact with the scammer. If you confront him. He will continue to lie as all criminals do.

Please post the emails sent to you and post the hotmail address.

Yeah, both parents are dead. His wife cheated on him and he has a 12 year old daughter.

So, there is no reason to further investigate the phone numbers I suppose? I hate to sound stupid, but I wanted this to be real so bad, I guess I just ignored all the signs.
I will post the emails when I have access to a laptop.

99.9% of everyone you meet on dating sites including free/paid sites will be a scammer.

My motto is if they can not meet for coffee in a public place then they are a scammer.

Real people wait until they are back in Country before trying to meet someone.

Scammers like to kill off all family members. This way you will be the only one to ask for money.

The fake child role will be for you to send presents or money to. He may tell you the child has a medical emergency and he needs to pay the doctor prior to a medical procedure. He just does not have access to his money.

The scammer is using this photo for his yahoo avatar. He is also using it on mingle2.com and waplong.com

I feel like the world's biggest idiot. Thank you all so much for your help. My heart is completely crushed. There was a reason I haven't dated in ten years. I guess I'm going to grow old alone, I won't ever trust anyone again. as soon as I figure out how to post, I'll send another pic and emails if it will help. Thank you again, at least the only thing I lost was my heart

Scammers are somewhat good at what they do.
