Information on romance scams and scammers.

Recently I received a request from a 2nd Lt Brown Siegel on Facebook. He seemed ok and thought no problem will chat to him so I accepted his friendship. He first told me he wanted to invest in some properties in Australia. I thought ok but then he wanted me to help him out. I thought very strange. I gave him a few websites and said look it up here it will be better as I can not do anything for you. You need to settle that yourself.

Then he started to send roses (pics) etc said he was so happy he met me. I said well I am married and get loads of kisses from my husband but thanks. I showed all his messages to my husband who also said he seems a bit odd. I agreed.

Then he said he wanted to come out this month but needed me to apply for leave as that was the only way he would get leave. I am a very cautious person. I thought that was very odd. Why would I need to write a letter on his behalf. He drafted a letter for me which was very basic indeed lol. I thought this is not an American Lt at all. I then decided to search the web and checked out a few things.

At the same time my husband got his picture and searched through google images and low and behold. This mans picture was stolen and used by scammers. I believe that the real Siegel is a Col Tristan Siegel.

The scammers have used Matt Siegel, Brown Siegel, Robert Siegel and several others. The email he used for me to type this letter to get him leave is [email protected]

His other details are 2nd lieutenant Brown Siegel with military code number USB427181. He is currently in a peace keeping mission in Syria. He claims he has no family his parents died and so did his wife from blood pressure problems and he is from St Louis.

The other thing that made me suspicious is he had no friends on facebook and he only uploaded photos with no one making any comments on them.

I didn't send the email so he didn't get the chance to ask for any money. I also came across this site and thought I would share. This is the real Mr Siegal http://oig.ssa.gov/tristan-b-l-siegel

Thank you for posting. Can you post some of the emails you received with your personal information removed? Please include any email addresses and phone numbers she may be using.

Just ignore any further emails and they will just move on to their next victim.
