I've been chatting to a lovely guy who says he's in the bomb disposal for the American army and is based in Syria.he seems lovely and I thought was genuine until I came across this site.he asked me to email his commander so that he would be granted leave but as of yet he hasn't asked for money.his name is Jordan V Rogers,I really need some advice on how I can check to see if he is genuine or if I'm being taking for a fool?

You are dealing with a scammer. Stop all communication with him.

We do not have American troops in Syria.

No one except the soldier can request leave and it would be done through official channels, not free email addresses. He may not have asked for money yet, but his fake commander will tell you that you need to pay for his leave which is a lie. Military do not pay for their leave.

What email addresses are they using?

The fact he asked you to contact his commander is proof he is fake.

The military do not communicate with friends or family of serving personnel.

Please stop all contact with the scammer and don't confront him. He will just try to deny it and continue scamming you.

Please can you also post the email addresses that the scammer is using.

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

This is the email he is using and I've since found out he's talking to several other women, how can we put a stop to this??and is there anyway I can post photos of him to show others the photos he's using?

Thank you Pinkysibbs85 - that's a big help for other victims that may be searching his email address. That email address is a FREE email address like gmail or Yahoo and would not be used to conduct military requests.

This thread shows you how to post photos, viewtopic.php?f=28&t=3219

I got a friend request today from Rogers Roveren, with this photo. No other friends! Amazing that he thinks I won't check on this. :yikes:

He's still out there, and I have no interest in his game. Just wanted to post the new name!

Because I was curious I friended him.

It took him all of 5 minutes to send a message wanting to talk. It didn't take long before he started asking if I was married, if I owned my own home, if I worked, could he have my phone number. Claims he's from the same state I am. But he tripped himself up with some of his less than wonderful english.

i must confess to you i fall in love with you in the first time i meet you babe
and i dont wanna hide my feeling on you babe if you could accept me as i am
i love talking to you too
i can see you are very sweet when am talking to you nice word on me

he then pushed for my phone number very hard. I said no. I've unfriended him and will block him shortly.

Thank you for posting up the information and blocking him is the correct approach. From his English grammar (or lack of thereof) it is easy to spot him as a West African.

I recommend telling your FB friends about this guy - once he has access to you as your friend, he has access to list of all your FB friends and he might have been trying to contact them while he was your friend making use of the "mutual friends" function. People tend to trust that more if there are mutual friends, especially if he claims to be from the same state.

Never tell scammer he is listed on this site.

If you find out person you are communicating with is listed here: stop all contact with the scammer

Hes started emailing me from a site called Seniorsmeet.com and he is stating his name is Curtis Whitman R. but when I tried to google search one photo it brought me here.. his email address to me is: [email protected]. I have received other photos not shown below but appear to be the same guy. They wont let me copy and paste though.. This is the latest email I got:

How's your day going and thanks for responding cause I'm very interested in you. I didn't post my picture on the site to protect me and people I communicate with due to my unit. Few weeks ago, ISIS threatened to kill all our friends through online social media by finding them through our pictures. The Intel officer also instructed us to delete all our Facebook pictures for security purposes so as I talk to you now, I don't have any picture on my Facebook page.

Did you get to fix your phone?

Do you like military men and have you ever dated any?

I hope to hear from you soon.
Hugs
Curtis

Thank gosh for Catfish on MTV thats where I learned to google search photos. Good luck, I am done with him..

Welcome to Scamwarners,

You will not find all the pictures scammers use.

If they ask for money, gifts, presents for children or ask you to accept money consider them a scammer.
