I met this person on a dating sight called say hi love , meet, and chat. We exchanged emails so he gave me his email that is on yahoo. [email protected]. he said he was in unit e9. He said he is a commander sgt and been in the service for 26yrs. He asked me to send money to get his papers this is a fee he said for stampage fee which he requested 550.00. I said I wanted proof he told me that I could email the base he would give me the email.which he didnt. Before this he asked for 350.00 to send for a fee for processing a ticket. So I messed that up by sending that. Then a few days later thats when he said this about a stampage fee. The first money I sent was to a person named amy boseman in greenville north carolina. But when I thought about it I dont think north carolina has a city thats greenville. I know south carolina does.

yes, it is a scam. Real military would not be asking virtual strangers on the internet for money. It is bad for morale.

Please read this article and all of the footnotes in it to better educate yourself. viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6527

How did you send the money? was it wired or USPS? if it was USPS then you should get the US Postal Inspector involved. Find your local one here : https://ribbs.usps.gov/locators/find-is.cfm

Don't confront the scammer. Don't tell him you know he is a criminal, he will just lie more. Don't tell him he is posted here, just sort of drop off the face of the earth. Block his email address, phone #'s, and any other method of communication you have had with him.

Please post any other means of communication for him that others might search for, phone #, skype ID, Google ID, etc.

Edit to add, there is a Greenville, NC. However the person named is another innocent victim probably identical to yourself that he lied to and said "I'll be expecting money, so after you get it send it to me outside the USA..."
Or, if you gave him the control # ( assuming it was wired), he could anonymously pick it up himself anywhere in the world. Never wire money to strangers see this article : http://www.never-wire-money-to-strangers.tk/
