Love Scam General James E Williams via Skype and Facebook!

After receiving a Skype message that a General James E Williams was lonely and wanted to make contact with me i knew it had to be a scam and i blocked the user. I then contacted whom i thought was the real General James E williams on Facebook to warn him of this and this is what i have received :

Please forgive my intrusion sir, but i feel compelled to have to let you know that someone may indeed be using your name on Skype. My name is xxxxxxxx and i received a message from you with a picture of you in a highly decorated navy blue jacket i believe. The message said that you were new to Skype and you were looking to chat. I was a little suspicious so i looked at the grammar and it seemed it wasn't possibly up to the standard of a man of your position. I freaked out and blocked the user as there as so may scams around. I hope i haven't offended you in any way i just thought that if it happened to me i would want to know. I do not expect you to answer back as i am sure you have more pressing engagements, but i feel better for having let you know sir. Thank you.

Sorry i haven't got back to you sooner but i have been busy. Unfortunately i do not work. i looked after people with disabilities and ended up breaking my own back and could barely walk. In extreme pain at times. I am sure you have some stories to tell being in such danger in Syria?

Oh thank you but i have gained a lot of mental and emotional strength and there are a lot of people much much worse than me. It's just s terrible shame i can no longer work to help someone i have to spend my day helping myself! That's frustrating! How about you and touring around in the fighting?

Welcome to Scamwarners,

Two things:

One, you contacted another scammer on FB and put yourself and friends list at risk.

Two, never contact victims. The real General is a victim of this scammer. These victims do not want people researching them and telling them things they already know.

Now you need to stop all contact with the new scammer and remove him from your FB.

Yes i have realised that it is not up to us to try and fix the injustice in someone trying to use another persons I.D to scam others and to put their good name and reputation to no good. I was innocent to the fact that there are web sites that you can go through to make amends to the damage to that persons reputation if, like me, you feel so concerned. I am also worried for the women that are on this scammers Facebook page and do not know how to get hold of them and worn them before they send money? What can be done with those that are innocently pulled in? I help people for a living and my heart works that way naturally, where i do not just want to help myself in the sinking boat but all others. I have caused harm to my Facebook friends but my husband wanted me to take this scammer to a level of proof beyond doubt that they are indeed fake with such an important name at stake. The best way to fight scammers and to help potential victims is to post scammers here.

Post their profiles, Skype/FB links, pictures, emails/messages, email addresses anything that a potential victim might google.

Never tell a scammer that you know he is a scammer or point out his mistakes.

We also preach baiting safely. Never use your real name, address or any identifying information. Keep in mind these people are criminals.

You will learn that some of those profiles will be a scammer also. (You will once again be contacting a scammer). Please do not contact people. For example you used your real name with the scammer you contacted. You also were on his friends list.

How would you like for people to contact you, your family members, employer and friends on a daily basis for the next few years? This contact will be made by phone, text, emails or visits.
