I JUST had a similar experience with " Major General James Powell " [email protected] . When he contacted me yesterday, I immediately started to investigate his auntenticity. The photos he posted did NOT match photos of the same identity that I came across at army.gov. From there, I checked this site and found that his name was not the only one being used to scam people. He contacted me again this morning, and his story was that he was soon going on leave and needed me to pay $590 to the United Nations (of all places! lol) to get a package of his personal possesions sent to him before his leave. This obviously confirmed my suspicions and I notified Facebook of this scam and have blocked him. NOT before telling this person how despicable I found him, suggesting he ask the Army that he doesn't belong to for assistance and reminding him that his deeds will come back to him when he least expects it.
