Information on romance scams and scammers.

Good Day, hope you can help me. I a Captain in the US army invited me on FB, we got serious but something is not right. His name is James Lepage Senior Officer at Special Mission Unit, he can't receive any phone calls and he wants to come visit me. But they send me the following
Attention:Madam,
This is to inform you that this office has received a feed back from the concerned office. Kindly print out the attached VACATION TRANSIT DOCUMENT, fill and return back as soon as possible to fast track proceedings. Complete the upper section of the form only and sign and return back.
Please do not disclose any form of this secure military information to any third party in other to avoid any defense counter charges and breach of Military Security Rule's of Engagement within the Military Defense Policy cancellation of the Vacationer replacement approval.
Kindly note also that you will have to make a refundable security bond fees for the vacation duty Notary Form Affidavit worth 223 USD. ( Two Hundred and Twenty Three United States Dollars which is equivalent to R3500 in your local currency), as demanded by the defense security code of ethics Act 1009, section 8 of 2015 Amended Security decree.This is to ascertain the replacement measures of the officer while with you in South Africa. Instructions on how you will transfer the fees will be given to you after we have received back the filled VACATION TRANSIT FORM from you.
Note also that a National Transit Base Marshal would be contacted in the defense headquarters to verify his departure clearance and Landing and endorse a Notary Military Stamp Order and Duty of Transit at once for the amiable Officer to be release to embark on his trip from Pakistan duty zone approval.

It is a scam and the person you are in contact with is not a member of the US military.

Leave in the military is never paid for, nor is anything else that a soldier requires. The US military will also never communicate with people outside the military regarding matters concerning soldiers.

The best thing to do is just block the scammer and don't respond to him any futher. Do not accuse him of being a scammer, he will just deny it and try to carry on scamming you.

Can you also post a link to his Facebook profile and any email addresses that he is using as his other victims may be searching for them

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.
