I have done a lot of research to find out if my guy is a scammer and he doesn't seem to fit any exact profile that I have found.
I met him on an online dating site. We chatted a bit there and then I decided to leave this dating site because it was not my kind of thing. He asked for my email and phone number and we have been doing both since then. We met around the beginning of March.
He was born in Texas to a military man and his French wife, but was actually raised in France and went to the University of Paris. He came to America in 2005, married a girl and was divorced two years ago in California.
His name is Michael Crabtree ( same as the football player) . He now lives in Bay City Michigan near his Aunt. His parents have since died and he is 45 years old, with no children. His phone number is a CA area code which makes sense.
Soon after we met, he said he was waiting for his loan to go through for his business trip to Cotonou, Benin where he was to wait for a Gold dust shipment from Mali. Because of the strife in Mali, it needed to be sent to a peaceful country before it could go on to the United States. He has described the process to me in detail. We talked for almost a month before anything was directly said about money. He had told me that he had to negotiate the price of his gold dust because they were asking too much, but never really got into it.Once he had to pay the higher price for the shipment he didn't have enough money for the $30K insurance on 1.2 million dollars in gold dust. Still didnt' ask me for money. One time I offered to go get a phone card because his had run out and he wouldn't let me because he pays his own way, not a woman paying for him . He was able to obtain part of the money from his best friend but was wondering if I could pay the last $4k. I told him I don't have access to that kind of money. We ended up in a big fight, he was yelling at me, because I don't trust him, and then he started crying because I didn't have faith in him. I asked him to give me his Aunts phone number and his ex wifes phone number so I could call them and talk to them . I called his Aunt and she said she heard a lot about me but then I couldn't understand her and hung up. Called his ex wife, a man answered and said she would call me back, but she never did. By this time, he had to move out of the hotel he was staying at because he didn't have enough money to stay there. He is now staying with his translator named Mark Brown, who has 11 kids. Mark Brown was able to come up with $2k and he asked if I could at least come up with $2K so he could leave Africa. I said, no, that I don't have that kind of money. He said could I at least help him connect to the internet and pay his bill of $150. I said, maybe. Meanwhile, I emailed the American Cultutal Center in Benin and asked if I sent him there would they verify his identity to me. No one got back to me but I asked him to go do that before I gave him money. He was upset once again that I don't trust him, he said he would do that, but that he would no longer date me because I don't trust him after all this time. I buckled and sent him $150 to his name in Cotonou. He had to have an ID to get the money so I assume that he is who he says he is. But I still feel uneasy....I am going to post some of his emails.
These are a few of his emails to me. The first one that I posted is the header. I did run it through IP addresses like you said. but it just came up as a yahoo account in Sunnyvale, CA which would make sense.
He sounds like a white man with a French accent on the phone. He has referred to himself as a white man in an African country.
Phone numbers are 805 242-6590 ( now we can only text when he is at a restaurant on WIFI
He bought a phone in Benin which is the one we talk on 229 98 73 66 13

Good morning baby, you already know the important story about my high school life and others. Am not a big family person or one that make this very close friend with people. Just when we meet up and smile and everything ends there, I have just one very close friend. The thing I think you still need to know about me is my brother. He's a real Mr done, I'm sure you know what I mean, a drugs dealers. He is totally the other side of me and won't do anything to help he's family, My dad actually make me to stay away from him since the high school and didn't even allow us to attend the same schools all through, cause since he's young age he will never stop this attitude of bad boy breaking all the rules everywhere, both, at home outdoor,parks and college. When my dad was tired of he's character and wanted to get him arrest, he rain away and move to Italy. And ever since then my dad stop me from communicating with him. Still yet I can hardly let the blood relationship and love go, so I always call him at my dad back, and I think that is the only disobey and dishonest I ever did to my dad, he makes me commit that. Cause my dad trust and believe in me even more than 100% just anything I say to my dad he believes, cause no one understand me than him. And I wish he's alive right now so I can open up to him about that, cause I still feel the hurt in my heart for disobeying him in the wrongest way. There was this time I had crisis on my business things went bad, I try to call on my brother for help, and he respond back to me that, I should go and awake my dad from grave to assist me and not him cause he has disown the both of us from he's life a very long time, and now have a new Family where he lives. I feel hurt a lot and I promise my self never to call him or contact him anymore. And that why I don't have a good relationship with my brother, but honestly I don't let that hold me that at all.

I was giving birth to a wonderful family my dad was an American man that married a France woman due to his service and work in France when he was younger, he was in the marine until he left and become civil engineer. I and my junior brother who turn to be something else now is their only child, I last talk to my brother about 5yrs ago. I got married and enjoyed my home. until my Ex started acting up lying and cheated on me. I worked as a entrepreneur before I later start the trading business. My EX cheated on me since I started traveling I didn't believe until I catch her and I ask her to pick me or the other guy and she pick me before him, so I gave her another try. And yet she still did the same thing again, and my dad told me once a cheater will always be cheater. So I hold on the words and ask for divorce.... I just need someone that can love me for me and we will love each other for the rest of our life, because i know life is too short to play with… I have learn to leave my past behind and move forward to the future, though my past makes part of my life and I need to plan for my future. I need love again in my life. I need a woman that can be mine on a long term goal and I believe I found her already and the precious woman is xxxxxxx you baby.
It hasn't been such a long time since we became friends. In this very short time we have shared many things together in getting to know each other. But, there is something that you haven't known... I like you. Not as a friend but as someone who I would share a lifetime with you.
