I met a Knowles Decker via the dating app, MeetMe. He claimed that he has been with the Army for 10 years and has been deployed in Kabul, Afghanistan. He claimed that he has a 12 years old son in Military school in NY. He is a single dad, and he was cheated on by his ex-wife and had to move out from LA to NY because of that. Before I chatted him up on MeetMe, this Decker person actually messaged me on OKCupid. When I asked him on MeetMe whether he has another profile on OKCupid, he admitted he does.
Things went well, and he said he would request a leave for 30 days to visit me. He would ask me all the time to skype with him, but guess what? Just that he could see me but I couldn’t see nor hear him because voice and video are restricted in Kabul. So, we just typed while he could see me but I saw a black screen. I repeatedly told him that I needed to see him before we could move on and he always replied we would eventually see each other.
We didn’t email at all but he sent me a few pictures via his very suspicious email ending in usa.com. I have read so many threads and an email address ending in that usually means no good.
He finally got the letter of approval of his leave, but the grammar in the letter was so poor that anyone would get suspicious. When I asked him where is 82nd SF base division, he said it is a military division. There is no 82nd SF base division nor a voluntary permission.
So, just a couple of days ago, he asked me to Skype him again and I was all annoyed and asked him for his official army email address. He said it was restricted then he said I didn’t trust him and got all mad and he ended the call. A few minutes later, I texted him on Skype and confronted him about him using a fake US Army profile and a forged letter of approval. He still left me messages on Skype asking me he was surprised that I would accuse him, and why he would send me a forged approval letter.
I have done a lot of researches when we are talking on Skype, for example, usa.com email address, when he told me about the bombings in Kabul, I literally would check the breaking news in Kabul. Google reverse image searches, social media searches. However, I still fell for his good looks, and his sweet talks.
I still have a copy of the letter of approval he sent to me but I can't attach it here. Punctuation and grammar are quite off. The letter never asked for money, it stated something on the last line: Date of leave 2nd of May 2016 Return to duty 30th of May 2016. Letterhead is the US Army Human Resources command in Fort Knox, KY. The signature block is a stamp with the name West Point Security Company.
