Information on romance scams and scammers.

Hello,

I have met a guy on a dating app a couple of weeks ago, we have been chatting a lot.
He says he is in Syria on a Peacekeeping mission.
He says he would like to get leave to come out and meet me.
He told me to send my details to an email that ends in @post.com which is weird for the ARMY.... also there is no signature/logo of the army at the bottom. Again... I don't know anything about Army arrangements, emails, rules, etc....
I asked him why. He said is its just the admin email.
He has sent me pictures of himself in the ARMY uniform, with his surname on it.
Im so confused... He also gave me his @yahoo.com personal email.
Can you please help me...? Could a person from outside the Army really apply for their leave just like that??
How do I find out if the email he gave me for the Rmelian Air Base is legit??
Please help.

Hello Alice G,
You instincts are correct, this is a scam and everything this person told you was a lie in an attempt to steal money from you. Any pictures that he sent were copied for other locations on the internet.
Official military emails will never be sent via a free email service such as yahoo.com .

Please post the email where he wanted you to apply for leave after removing your personal information.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Can you confirm if this email above is really fake?

Yes, it's fake. Military members are the ONLY ones that can request leave and it wouldn't be through a free email address like [email protected] - it is a scam.

Please post the email. Someone may be looking for text in the email, or the scammer may change the email address but send the same email.

Legitimate email addresses of the US military end in .mil.

Drop all contact with the scammer and don't tell him why.
