I apologize in advance for how long this is but I find it all important.

I started to talking to someone 2 weeks ago from OKC. He found me, UserName: loveislife662. His message said: "Hi beautiful how are u doing? I like your profile on here especially your lovely smile I would love to know more about you if you don't mind. Hop to hear from you soon. I'm not always on here hit me on kik gregjlove.."

His profile was deactivated the day after I responded. We started chatting on kik and had me convinced he was real, (I work as a social worker in the mental health field and have worked with some of the best liars and manipulators). We even shared a few emails that follow. Email address: [email protected]

"Hi sweetness it's really nice to get an email from you , puts a smile on my face what you wrote and yes Im enjoy getting to know you too and I Get more positive about each passing day.. I feel so comfy with you like I have known you for a long time, I wanna continue getting to know you for sure cuz I haven't smiled this much in a long I hope you enjoying your day cuz I'm enjoying my day chatting with you while I work

Well it doesn't upset me that you Asked about my losses even tho it was very painful for me and the kids but together we have been able to cope without her cuz we sure do miss but I know she's wouldn't want us to pause our lives she would want us to keep living on, she died of cancer of the cervix and my parents well dad was diabetic for a long time but he did at the age of 79 so he lived I would say and my mom died 2 years after he did prolly cuz she misses him so much cuz they were so In love they were married for over 50 years. I would really want that kinda forever love with that special someone(you)
Yes I'm religious I go to church with the kids when I'm home but I'm not a fanatic but I'm a believer of the almighty God cuz I believe he's been protecting me in the midst of all the chaos my job has put me into and also my buddies here too lol and it doesn't bother me that you aren't cuz I believe every one has the right what they believe in or not all that matters is what's on the inside of a person not what religious sect you belong to or does not belong to.
What made me joined the army was that when growing up we had a lot of veterans on my street and hearing them share their war stories with so much pride for serving their country even tho most of them were disabled one way or the other fascinated me and I guess I wanted to feel that kinda pride serving my country so that's wha made me joined the army.

At this point I started to become suspicious because he claimed to be a combat medic, so he should have known what a pinched sciatic nerve was, and the way he described his "wife's" death, "cancer of the cervix" instead of "cervical cancer" like someone in the health field would do, but I didn't pay too much attention to the red flags waving.

The next and last email (thankfully our communication was short):
"Good morning sweetheart
Sorry i haven't been able to respond earlier , it's nice getting messages from you be it email or on kik makes me smile always and wow you are falling in like with me, that makes me feel even more better that the feeling is mutual

What would be a perfect day for me would be hanging outdoors with my kids and that special someone doing any fun outdoor activities could be swimming could be just picnicking cuz I love to spend time with them anytime I can and then when we get back home me and my special someone (you) would have adult time alone massaging each other so yes I like massages giving and receiving until it turns into a full blown adult time lol.
Embarrassing moment well I try not have many lol but here's one I remember there was a day on camp I was gonna lead parade I was standing in front everybody there civilians too watching but I didn't I left my zipper really open that if someone really looked closer they might really see my package lol jk but it was embarrassing for me cuz everything needs to be at tip top shape for a parade. True about the Facebook cuz I feel not everyone in the world should know your business as per relationship even tho you are proud of your partner and would show them off any and everywhere.
Well I like a woman who is an all round but not tomboy even tho she can be a girl next doors and then switch to a girly girl whenever is necessary may be for a dinner date or just going out together a s couple.
I'm usually on time even before the army but the army made it even more a part of me.

The grammar mistakes I overlooked because I myself have been having a hard time getting used to my new phone and make plenty of grammatical errors while typing on it. Foolish me.

I have friends and family in the military so I am aware of some of the protocols and I doubled checked with two friends yesterday to make sure my understanding of things was accurate. The following is the kik conversation that we had throughout yesterday and into last night (again I'm sorry this is so long) M= me H=him:

H:Sorry for the late response
I was talking to my card company cuz I lost my wallet days ago and I had all my cash and cards in it so I have been trying to get the card company to help me get a card thru to me and all they keep saying is thy are looking into it cuz this is Africa and they don't have an outreach there for now I have been stranded cash wise for several days now and there's no one to ask for help

M: Ok so I don't want to sound like a jerk, but what you just told me sounds exactly like one of the scams I read the other day. I'm not saying you are scamming me but I need some reassurances right now cause I'm not feeling so good

H:Well I'm sorry if you like it's a scam but that's what it is and I don't have any way to reassure you than to tell you I don't have any reason to lie to you and all I'm saying if for real You should also know that scammers don't pick stories from the air they use real peoples story but who I'm to tell you that since to you I'm just another scammer

M: I didn't say you were another scammer but what would you think if you were in my shoes?

H:I wouldn't think such of someone I claim to have feelings for cuz I must have really talked to that person for a while a gotten to know them before I could say I have feelings for them and what makes me trust them with my feelings then I can trust them with anything else cuz I don't go about trusting just anyone with my feelings

M:Here is the information i have: no camera on your phone it was broken, no APO address, email is aol not .mil, you have no family, family you closed tour online account the day afrer we met, and you lost your wallet...those things are supposed to be red flags.

H:Well it's not a red flag it's just the things that happened Just a coincidence

H:Well I dunno how hard it is for you but all I know is that I am real and I am who I say I am and there's no reason for you to doubt me if you really do have feelings for me

M:I have a way for you to reassure me and put this whole thing to rest once and for all....send me an email from your military email address.

H:Well I would have done that if o could but I can't on this kinda mission I'm on

M:I don't think that is true. Because if it were why would you be able to email on aol? Or chat on here.

H:Well cuz I am looking for someone special for a long term serious relationship

M:Every military member has access to their .mil email, regardless of where they are deployed. I have a friend who is a SEAL and he could still email his family

H:Okay then if that's how you feel if I could I wouldn't argue about it I would just send you an email straight up Well I already said this before hand I'm very limited to the things I can or can't do if it were on my other deployments to other places I would do anything you want me to and there won't be no reason to doubt me cuz I would have done all this things normally without you asking

M:Ok....mailing address or what unit are you with, or what base are you stationed at in the U.S., why do you only have 3 friends on fb

H:Well I don't go there ever and those people I don't even know them they sent me friend request You don't understand that k can't divulge much info about me for now

M:You could tell me what your US home base is

H:Nah I can't tell you that either I can't tell you anything

M:Or what your MOS is or unit information

M:I have a friend who says an APO would be set up for the unit or an address to use, whether it goes to your location or not

H:Well that's why we use the a post office as our APO for now

M:So what's the address

H:Why so you can say it's a lie too

M:Everything you have told me is textbook scammer stuff. Its pretty hard to just ignore that when you can't give me anything

H:Well everything i told you is no scam I'm sorry I can't give you anything even tho I really wish I could

M:Ok, I'm gonna ask for something that I can verify on my own...what was your wife's name and date of death.

M:It feels not so good asking for it, but until I'm able to verify something I'm going to have doubts

But pending that time I still need help so I'm hoping you could help me out with benefit of doubts that i am who I say I am

Clearly this was a scam. I'm just glad that he didn't drag it out until I was in love with him. I will add pictures once I figure out how to do it.

In the future, do not tell the scammer that you know he's a scammer and do not point out all the red flags to them. This educates them and helps them make their scams better, which we don't want. Just drop all communication with them like you've fallen off the face of the earth and don't tell them anything next time.
